The last test coffe you made, that "stove top espresso" isn't an espresso. It is a moka pot coffee. It's the kind of coffee people in Italy have at home. The only way to make an espresso is with a machine, since espresso requires pressure and a stovetop pot (maybe with the exception of the Kamira) can't produce the pressure to make espresso. Moka or napoletana are the traditional Italian home coffee pots. The we go out for espresso.

I’ve used a nanopresso heaps - they’re designed to give you espresso (with a crema) whilst camping, or without access to a coffee machine. They do take a bit of effort, because you have to build up the pressure. They make a really good shot of espresso that’s totally comparable to what you’d get from a machine.

Coming from Vietnam, which is a huge coffee-exporting country, I also get super weird look when I say I don't like it. I can drink coffee, and I do if I really need to stay awake, but given the choice I wouldn't choose coffee. Milk with coffee or coffee flavoured cake maybe. Might just be a theory but I was given very strongly brewed coffee when I was small which made me vomit, gave me a headache, and made me stay up for 2 days so I guess the experience stays and made me dislike it. Also homebrew coffee in Vietnam is much stronger than the Westerner kinds, on that note tea too.

Hi Dan, Greetings from Berlin, Germany. I confess that I found your gadget test videos out of boredom and pure coincidence and damn it, I am absolutely thrilled! 🥳 I've seen a few videos now and every video so far has been a heck of a lot of fun. 😂 Your "5 Coffee Making Gadgets" video has gotten the most laughs out of me so far. Your performances are great, some gadgets are just ridiculous and together it's just super entertaining. Please keep up the good work! Best Regards Daniel

Such a great video! It would be cool if we talked about ease if cleaning the gadgets versus cleaning their more mundane counterparts. Edit: I was actually considering that collapsible coffee press. It seemed perfect for someone like me that only drinks coffee once in a great while. BUT ITS 42 BUCKS!! Too rich for this buckaroo's blood, lol. I suppose for coffee drinkers that might not seem too bad, but you can get a french press for $10.

17:12 the espresso time lapse compares using cooked water in the contraption versus cooking the water normally... of course the cooking of water takes more time. The time to cook the water for the contraption should have been added as well to *actually* have a correct time.
