12:15 Cord Vs no cord, I think there will always be compromises while this technology is still very much in the process of being developed. Form factor, optical stack and lens type, panel type, on board Vs off headset compute, controllers Vs hand tracking, eye tracking for foveated rendering, and eye tracking for changing the lens correction based on where you are looking. Depth of field and eye accomodation still not on any consumer headset. None of these things are even standard across every headset. So many technologies are up in the air still. We haven't reached the baseline for VR at all yet. It's not even as simple as VHS Vs Betamax was, and sometimes weaker more convenient tech can win over better tech.

I think that's the argument for Quest. Lesser more convenience over what is actually better technical wise. But I'm a technical guy so.....

@@gamingisinsession maybe it's a different kind of fear. The fear of what *you* may become... I killed about 30 villagers with a knife in the first 15 minutes of playing Resident Evil 4! For me it was like the Roarshach prison scene in Watchmen, "I'm not stuck in this village with a bunch of psychos. They are trapped here with ME!"

12:57 I dont think psvr2 not financially viable for Rec Room makes sense, given they are bringing Rec Room to Apple Vision Pro. Unless they want Sony to pay them to bring it. ❤

Oh I didn't know it's going to the vision pro....what the heck?! There's only like 80k of those....how does that make sense?

Maybe it's because it's developed in Unity and unity pulled all those shenanigans sone months ago with unity wanting to charge per each and every installation beyond a certain number of units 'sold'. I don't know. Or maybe they think Apple Vision Pro will be full of micro transaction buying whales? It's an odd move! What is the crossover demographic between a $3500 headset and a kid filled free-to-play game?

Bad news is that a lot of devs are backing out on psvr2. I think we might be screwed. Looks like psvr2 could be dead. We get the worst releases compared to quest almost like they spend the least amount of time on psvr version cuz they don’t care. Now devs openly say there’s no money. Also over this Christmas only 1000 psvr2 headset sold on amazon vs 80,000 quest ! This is not good bro.

It does not help having influencers like Angry Joe putting PSVR2 on their most disappointing list of 2023.
