@@calliprice9320 Yeah Calli ^^ Feeling your creation is the best way to do actually. If I should only rely on my intelligence, capacity of analysis and knowledge, I’d be ultimately limited. when you let your feeling leading the way, it opens to a wider field to explore apparently, and that’s where I choose to cultivate my skills ^^ However, I have to get back to civilization and to the common ways of communicating music at some point, in order to transmit my work to perfomers, so then can provide their interpretation of it to the public… :)

@@gregoryproch I think that may work for a particular branch of music, but I've never seen evidence from any of the classical greats that intellect and emotion are somehow divorced and at odds. There's certainly a great deal of intellectual nonsense in academic music, and music approached purely intellectually tends to be rather soulless (although more intellectually strenuous music can certainly be fascinating and many classical works take many listens to digest), but unless you've been composing or doing music since you were a child, it's likely that your intellect can be a massive help, since it's the thing that recognizes patterns, analyzes whether or not an A and B section have enough in common, etc. It can be really helpful to know what intervals are, or what sounds correspond with various intervals, for instance. This is different IMO from approaching it "intellectually", or from a "theory"-based standpoint -- theory is simply descriptive, not prescriptive.

I would say both are difficult in their own way. Jazz doesn't require you to memorize and perfectly play an exceedingly difficult 40 minute symphony, but improvisation is a big skill in and of itself.

Yeah classical music has a lot of pressure and potential for expression, but improvisation and jazz harmony is another thing in it's own right. As a vocalist for both sides I will say classical is harder because of the high expectations of phrasing and whatnot.

@@isaachenderson6973 To be a truly innovative or skilled jazz player or improviser is no small feat either, and at the truly elite level everything is rare and difficult. From a technicality standpoint though, for sure -- look at how Hilary makes it through an entire Sibelius concerto with no more than a single minute, barely audible mistake, it's incredible. When you start playing an instrument at age 5 and practice hours a day, whatever genre you're going to be playing that maximizes your skill is probably going to be the most difficult.

they're both very difficult, but have similar cultures.

They are both interconnected, a good classical musician can become an excellent jazz musician if he/she wants to, and vice-versa.
