Shane and Marty take us inside the PING Tour Truck at the PGA Championship with PING’s Sr. Player Development Manager, Kenton Oates. They cover the basics, like what’s on the truck, who stops by, and what their week looks like when they pull up to a tournament, before diving a bit deeper, touching on the importance of the relationship tour reps develop with players, the balance between personality and technology when working with a pro, and advice the everyday golfer can take from how they fit and take care of Tour players.

I just got fitted for 430 irons and I ordered hybrids but I couldn’t hit any hybrids because I am left handed and the Dick’s where I was fitted didn’t have any left handed hybrids.

Sheesh…I’ve have a set of Titleist clubs almost 20 years and a hand me down putter from Fleet and Farm and for maybe 30 years…the whole thing cracked. Guess I need to regrip everything or get a new set lol

How do you get Tyrrell's driver down to 195 gram head weight? Is that a common modification on Tour? Consumer LST is at 208 grams I believe.

they just select a light one from the batch. Usually, when the Tour truck stocks up, they get pre-weighted and measured heads - you can actually request the same in any Ping custom order. "Digitally lofted". Ping doesnt have "Tour" heads. They just modify them with the weight ports and hotmelt

Gents, How much better are the new irons than my G5's? As a hack..... Hear me out... Would I notice a lot or is it the mythical and standard "new clubs are so much more forgiving..." If I hear that from another gold sales person, I gonna snap. If you take how much more forgiveness there is by each new club release over the years and give that a percentage over the previous model, is the forgiveness now 90% more than my old faithfulls? With 90% more forgiveness I'd expect a huge difference - Thoughts?

Biggest difference is going to be consistency and some level of forgiveness through that...the ball does more of the same thing across a broader area of the face. The other thing is feel...the G430 line is the first one in generations that feels really good even thou its a game improvement iron.
