The end of July in Alabama’s “Land Before Time,” Dismal Canyon. Join us on a brief but beautiful hike through a prehistoric Canyon that looks like the dinosaurs never left! Giant green boulders, crystal clear water, caves and waterfalls ..Alabama was incredible

Absolutely love this video! The only thing is the music is irritating and made me extremely anxious. We had to mute it for most of the video.

I loved the video, though I do agree the music takes attention away from the video story, (I did appreciated the narrative!) Keep up the good work,I hope you enjoy it, because it is very enjoyable to watch.

Thank you for sharing Dismals with the world. I live about 55 miles South of Dismals and have visited it quite a few times. At times through the years, Dismals has struggled to stay open due to various reasons. It can really be called a hidden gem, at this time there isn’t even a sign on the major highway that you turn off of to go to Dismals. That’s been the main problem through the years with owners just not having enough cash to do heavy advertising. I am glad to see that it has been updated greatly since the last time I was there. There wasn’t a restaurant or gift shop the last time I was there. I don’t know about now, but the water that created the waterfall at the beginning of the video was a wide stream close to the path that you walk down to the gift store. It was wide and deep enough that swimming was allowed in it. I will say that if you have weak ankles of knees, the path can be rough. You also have to watch your step for roots and rocks. After you have walked the trail, the steps coming back up is a breath grabber. Dismals is a great lil place.

You should have stayed until it was dark and seen the dismalites. Glowing worms the canyon is known for, that make the canyon walls look like stars.

We came at a time the worms were not visible. Peak visibility is spring and fall (night time) ….we went in the middle of summer early morning …but I tried my best to capture the beautiful canyon aside from the amazing glow worms obviously lol

Great video! We live in Lincoln and been wanting to go! Fun fact! I knew this, but copied it from their website so I hope you guys were there after dark. "Past twilight the canyon lights up with tiny bioluminescent creatures we call Dismalites. These "glowworms" require a select habitat to survive and are unique to only a few places on Earth. They are “close cousins” of the rare glowworms found in Australia and New Zealand."

Just wondered why the only person in your video who seemed to have a good time was you., your wife, and child neither one smiled, nor once. There was no looking around at the beauty around. Everyone seemed to be in a big hurry and not interested in the hike at all. Only exception was when the child was walking in the water, but even then he did not amule.
