Motor Sailing for Old Dudes

After a rolly night at Broughton island we're up early to get conditions right for the Camden bar. We want to get in and cross in marginal conditions. We cruise extensively along the East Australian Coast on our 13 meter catamaran. Join us as we explore new cruising grounds, cross bars, fix all kinds of problems, ride out rough weather and live aboard for extended periods.
We even have a playlist that gets us on other peoples boats.
We hope that our videos encourage others to get on board and experience this fantastic lifestyle.
If you want to follow us in real time check out our Facebook page ......

Text book crossing for a displacement cruiser in those conditions. Great to watch. And great acknowledgment from VMR.

Well Done Norm, I didn't envy you negotiating the shoals leaving Broughton Island in the dark and that bar crossing would want me to stay a month rather than a week to prepare your nerves for crossing the bar again. I really enjoy travelling the coast with you and especially seeing your skills picking up moorings against the tide by yourself. Looking forward to your further adventures.

Thanks Dude. Yeah was pretty hectic navigating out of there and some of those bars weren't much fun.

Norm, it's worrisome to watch you working on the foredeck with no lifejacket on.

Wouldn't want to worry you. Thanks for being concerned, but I feel pretty safe. I'd worry more about you jumping in your car and driving to the shops. Cheers Dude.

Love ya Norm & love ya videos man! I don’t like to see ya freak out like that when crossing the bars, I know from experience it can be quite nerve racking! You handle it well but I just wondering why you pull back on the throttle? I worked on prawn trawlers out of cairns fishing the gulf for a few years, around 60ft steel FV’s.. I was always taught to NEVER back off.. I noticed in one of your previous clips you nearly went careering into a rock wall on a bar crossing & I dare say that was a result of hitting reverse.. not coming from a place of judgement mate, everybody’s different & has different approaches but I’d just hate to see ya put any scratches on the Peggy Ann dude! Anyways, love ya work mate keep it up!😊👍🏾

Thanks Dude, Don't know if it's different in a cat, but the crossing I broached on was when I was giving her a bit of throttle to get in. Since the I've always backed of em. Seem to work for the old girl. Thanks for the comment Dude
