This turned out beautiful:>) ever consider adding sand and rocks under epoxy, painting the bottom tan adding coral and fake fish for decoration, Than afterwards I've seen video's where the person adds LED lights to highlight the under water scenery. They drill a hole carefully flush through bottom of the wood panel just to epoxy level than carefully press LED lighting into holes works best with a white light, multiple LED'S. Thanks for Inspiration and knowledge, All the best 2021 from CANADA.

This look amazing! I've heard when pouring multiple layers you need to scuff up the first layer after its dried before pouring the second layer for better adhesion. Is this true? If so, does it affect the transparency or will the scuff marks disappear by themselves after its dried?
@PahjoDesigns
@PahjoDesigns 4 жыл бұрын
Scuff marks are only necessary when it completely cures. If the bottom layer is partially cured, no scuffing is necessary. If you do need to scuff, the top layer cover the marks. Just remember to clean the dust after scuffing

Is there a type of wood you like working with best? What wood has the best grain in your opinion? Thanks for the video 😎

Towanda Thedriver most domestic hardwoods are good to work with. I mostly like Walnut, white oak, cypress, and sinker cypress. Cypress is plentiful where I live so it’s inexpensive. I love sinker cypress and walnut best.

How would I do a wave/water design on a basic ~1 inch thick round piece of wood. Like a slice of a full trunk, not 2x4s. Similar to what you see in a lot of craft stores for burning or painting on. I have an idea to inlay a shark tooth into a mock beachfront setting but I'm not sure how to go about it honestly. I was thinking of carving in a beach and filling the reservoir with resin but I've never tried this before, so any advice would be awesome! Also would a torch or hair dryer work in place of a heat gun? I use the torch when I'm varnishing and doing pour over art to get rid of bubbles and smooth out the process, wondering if it would work the same with res.🤔

Yes, a hair dryer will work as long as it doesn't have too much power. You can do a water design on a wood cookie on top of the wood like this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j51xactjts-lc58.html

Question in regards to the transparent blue pigment. Do you use the same amount for each pour or less/more per each pour?
@PahjoDesigns

Awesome job. When you sand down the epoxy it’s does not scratch? Or use a very fine grit then polish?
@PahjoDesigns
@PahjoDesigns 4 жыл бұрын
Thereis a technique to it. I only sand up to 220 or 320 grit. In fact, my next video will be about resin sanding. :)

Great work, I really like the work you do, I'm new to working with epoxy. I had a question about epoxy and not seasoned wood? If I want to do a small project do I need wood to be dry or some moisture ok? What can happen if i was to use fresh cut wood? Thank you.
@PahjoDesigns
@PahjoDesigns 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It’s always good practice to use dry wood on projects. The wood shrinks/expands when wet, which could result in cracking & separation from the resin.

Your wood took moisture or was it resin? It looks wet at some places
@PahjoDesigns

The video is a supplement to the free written tutorial. I find this is a good balance bc people complain when I talk during videos more than when I don’t, so I create a video to accompany the free blog post. The link to the blog post is in the description and in the first pinned comment.
