Installing power steering on my 08 Yamaha Rhino. This video should help you with what to do and how to do it. The ride and the feel you get from the steering is a plus and very different. Subscribe: / @lonniejohnson1

Thanks for posting this video. I was able to install mine in less than 2 hrs. Wouldn’t have gone so smoothly without your instruction.

Thanks for this great video it helped me tremendously putting my power steering on my rhino, the instructions were for sh#*. If it weren't for you it would not have been done. Thanks to your instructions I got it completed. and OMG what a difference in the steering Love it

Yes, big difference, glad I could help

Thanks for the video, mine barely rubs the brake switch. Took me 2 hours. Don’t do what I did, pay attention to how the two steel plates interact with each other, and don’t tighten any mounting bolts until it’s all together so you can keep it from binding and miss your brake switch. Tighten the steering wheel bolts first, if you create a bind, the u-joints are the weakest link and will come apart, I found out the hard way.

Never needed EPS lol, love the simplicity of my manual steering :) Now in a car with ps having a failed pump or motor, thats another story. The stock steering on the rhino works great if youre not lifted or driving over mountains :)
@LonnieJohnson12 жыл бұрын
Your right about a car, however, it's really nice when driving over mountains and when riding over rocks it make's it so much easier to turn and control without having to fight the steering wheel and breaking my wrist or arm in the process. Also works good while driving through deep water.

How has the EZ-steer unit held up? I'm interested in buying one, but don't want to spend $600 on something that doesnt last.
@LonnieJohnson18 жыл бұрын
+ZipTieAffair It has not been a year yet but so far it has been a great asset! I haven't had any issues with it at all. I have a lot of tight spots where I have to park and backing up is so easy know.

Thank you for your video i order this kit.. Did not get a book no instructions No papers no nothing lol. Mine does not have a brake light switch their Mine has a cable with the a Spring attached to the brake pedal.. I'm thinking it' Activates The switch When you put foot on brake let's you go Into reverse.. My kit came with a inch Bracket It let me move that cable down about an inch away from that steering knuckle.. Mine is a 2017 Cub cadet the same thing as a Massimo..

Its 2020 now. How has this held up. We use a lot of trails with long rocky drop-offs so need something reliable.

Still holding up and working great. I have no complaints and no regrets.

@@LonnieJohnson1 Oh nice, I just picked up a used 660 Rhino and was thinking of power steering so the family could use it too. Is it still available and is there a link?

@@oby-1607 Hi, did you find a PS setup? I have an 08 and am looking too.

@@nickoman2468 No, Covid 19 has presented its challenges for accessing parts. But it will happen.

The more air you add to the front tires, the easier they will steer
@LonnieJohnson15 жыл бұрын
True, but you sacrifice control and wear out the center of the front tires and you get no traction. Also the front end will bounce you into a tree or damage the front shocks and bushings. Depends on how you drive.
@charlenewilson33547 жыл бұрын
ill just get a new one with power steering
@LonnieJohnson17 жыл бұрын
I almost did that.

$650 is pretty steep
@LonnieJohnson13 жыл бұрын
Wow!!! I only paid about $517. After I installed it, it was nice to steer with one finger. But yea, it's getting pricey.

Nobody cares what size of socket you’re using…. If people are that inept the shouldn’t be working on anything!
@LonnieJohnson15 ай бұрын
I just try to keep them from looking and guessing which socket or wrench to use. I try to give all the information and help I can because people that DIY might not jump into these projects a lot. Thanks for the comment.
