I have fond memories of the EQG movies, and that musical part from the first one was definitely so very nice and... EQG-like! It has that distinct charm that can only be found in EQG content. Here Tw3Lv3 teamed up with Blackened Blue for an uplifting new take on the song that made the whole cafeteria move! Punchy beats, a happy atmosphere, clean guitars, the energetic original vocals, as well as appreciated Pinkie vocal samples are all creating the perfect recipe for even more fun! *That moment when you realise one of the best songs from a kids movie about magical ponies is literally a political campaign.* I mean, how else do you describe this song? They're literally singing to encourage everyone to vote for their candidate. They straight up say "We can work together helping Twilight win" and "Make a change". This scene is basically the alternate-universe human counterparts to magical pony girls attempting to overthrown the opressive regime of a high-school bully who somehow manages to have more authority than the principals. *And the funniest part? Is how realistic it is.* I don't how it is in other countries, but in Brazil, it is extremely common for presidential candidates to have a "theme song" advertising them, usually with lyrics talking about how "great" the candidate is and encouraging listeners to vote for them and "help candidate x win". You heard that right. A musical number from a kids movie about magical ponies is a semi-accurate portrayal of political campaigns in Brazil. Someone writes a theme song to advertise their candidate, and then that song is played on the streets and TV ads to encourage people to vote for their candidate. It doesn't include the dancing, and the songs are pre-recorded rather than played live, but outside of that, it's pretty accurate. And on top of that, Sunset Shimmer's video humiliating Twilight is ALSO an accurate portrayal of politics in both Brazil and the USA. She focuses on trying to make her opposition look bad rather than trying to make herself look good.
