Minelab sold all those 800 series detectors for a high price tag. They had so many problems such as arm cuffs breaking, coil ears breaking and the most of them leak like old baskets. Now they got the 900 series out thinking that people are gullible enough to put their hand in their pockets and give away their hard earned money again. Minelab should be giving these thing out for free with a full apology for the junk that they sold their customers to start with what a nerve, Just my opinion!! I would never buy their garbage. Just listen to that crazy machine chatter, so irritating. I would never buy such a machine for $400 more than what their last piece of trash was!! 😂😂😂😂

That recovery speed is awesome! I’ve been using the etrac for 10yrs and it would freak out if I had that many targets so close together.

Mine came with three coils in Feb 2024, Minelab deal included a 15 inch - so a great deal.

Great video and decent review. But if you want to check depth on both machines try lowering the recovery speed to 1 and throw your arm a little slower (real slow). Sensitivity gives you 0 depth on those machines. Also take it out of multi and run 10khz. YOU will be suprised at the depth you will get. Overall I kinda liked your video. I really need some more bare bones testing done but i'm leaning 900 just because of the collapsed shaft size and the 800 coils still work with it.

I can honestly say yes it’s a better detector over the 800 I just got mine could not wait for the Manticore. I will wait awhile to maybe buy the manticore when the hype has worn off and people are selling barely used ones

Not sure why minelab are bringing out 3 new machines at the same time...iyo is the manticore worth paying the extra dollar?

Pls do a test to a large buried object on its maximum depth cabapility

I ALWAYS take a tape measure with me when I detect under water 🤣. just to make sure I don't go past 3 meters with the 800. to be honest, I've never submerged the 800 due to some springing leaks. Great review mate. didn't at all look like you were reading off a script 🤣

Great review PJ, but I’m savings for the Manticore, I’ve already got the two coils, I’ve never purchased the fifteen inch, so the 800 will be my spare and the Xterra 705 my spare spare.. merry Christmas 🎄

Worth it? What if I don't want the small coil? Maybe because of better construction, added features and inflation, i wouldn't pay more than 100 USD with single coil.

Liked your honesty in compering the two machines but iv already got the carbon shaft for my 800 and I use a coiltek coil on the machine so I honesty can't see the point of buying a 900. To be quite Frank with you I prefer my deus 1 and legend before the nox, this 900 just seems too much like the 800 and most nox users over here in Britain have changed out all the bad bits already so to change it seems a pointless exercise unless your old 800 is dropping to bits

So far I'm not sold mainly for the reason that if it is just a tuned up 800 then Minelab should have done this to the 800 in the first place. It's kind of like setting your house on fire and then putting it out and wanting praise for it. I love the higher ID though, but that should have been on the 800 in my opinion. I am also curious about the iron bias settings. I had over 2000 hours on my 800 when I updated to the new F2 setting. That update turned a good machine into a mediocre one and it was reverted back that night.

900 just like the legend the shaft is awesome on legend as well at cheaper price though

They updated to compete with nokta. Nokta added vibe and light to make it stand out.

Don’t get me wrong. The extra features of the 900 do seem pretty cool but there’s just not enough to make me want to upgrade from the 800. If you’re gonna get the 900, you might as well just go all in and get the Manacor

How about doing one on upgrading from the Vanquish 540 Pro Pack to The Equinox 700? I have one on the way on order.

Thank you for your video ! I doubted whether the 900 would be significantly better than the 800. I've been using the 800 for 6 years and I'm ready for something new. The XP deus 2 also attracted me very much, but the large coil that I bought separately does not fit. That was a welcome addition to your video. Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands.

I can truthfully say I am going back over old grounds and FINDING TWICE as much, and yes I have the 800.I NOW HAVE THE 900 IT'S IT'S ASSUME.

I like how the 900 has a light for searching.

I'm not upgrading from my 800. even with the 2 tele-knox stems, the stock coil, 6 inch coil, coiltek 10x5 coil, id be lucky to get £600-£700 for it now. then I'd be saving for a year to make up the difference to get the 900. it's going to be a great machine for anyone that wanted a nox, but for anyone with a nox, the sensible upgrade would be the manticore 👍

I don't know if the UK gets this but in the US the 900 comes with 2 coils and wireless headphones $1,099.00 !!!

Needed to talk about battery life and how its charged. Other than that great vid. I rock a simplex and it can go 8 hrs or more straight and is charged by usb not batteries. Happy Safe Holidays
