@@pahtriac Eve Online's concept of FPS has always (so Far) been PI based, even in DUST the structures fought over were PI processors. and players in Ships could interact with that combat with orbital strikes. However the difficulty Eve has had (and will still have) is that basically it is - a group of attackers vs a solo PI Owner. I think that is why they are introducing a version of Corp run PI where it can only be done in Alliance space.

1-2 minute trailer is very different from a movie... look at LoL, they make some of the best trailers/ music videos/ ads for their game out there but 0 movies. Yeah, though I did notice in the last second or two of the video showing the Skyhook, it was definitely being shot by something. This video had a WAY different tone than EVE's normal grimdark, "Build it just to destroy it" feel. This one actually seemed very inspired and 'stepping into a new age' kind of hopeful, but at the veeeeery end, CCP had to drop that little nugget of, "Don't worry guys, these turn into fireworks too."

@@umadbroimatroll7918 not necessarily. I hope it will be accessible and usable by anyone. Like they dock and have individual access to their own Pi setup. The structure could act as a “hub”. If not, then you are totally right. Massive mistake if ccp takes PI away from individual players. But I doubt they’d be so stupid.

@@baileyjones159 also looks like its possible that it's just a fully new type of resources used only for the new sov nullsec changes. As in the dev blog it looked like they were very much talking about planetary resources only with upgrading infrastructure hubs, and the new passive moon mining drills.

@@umadbroimatroll7918 Yeah this was my takeaway as well. PI as we are doing it now, probably isn't going to change much. It hopefully will get a bit of a facelift with a better UI than it has now, but PI commodities touch WAY too much of the market to get upended by one expansion. This definitely looks like an expansion upon existing PI. Commodities will still be handled by players and POCOs, and the new materials will likely be handled by the alliance, or also by players after the alliance sets up the Skyhooks.

Null sec has not gotten content for years...since the end of Scarcity we've gone from Trigs (Hi/Low sec), to FW (low), to Homefronts (Hi), to Havoc (Hi/Low). At most Null sec have gotten a crumb with each expansion and a promise of Soon(tm). After years of neglect, it's perfectly fine for them to get an expansion focused on them.

Null is just so boring, feels like this is how they keep those players paying, sucks for the majority of us still holding out for a little love

@@MalakStarfire This. Hisec and Lowsec have gotten quite a bit of new content over the last few years. Nullsec has just kind of been left to the side to stagnate, and that's exactly what it has been doing. There are no wars. There are no major conflicts. At best we get sub-capital skirmishes that **sometimes** involve dreads or FAX. Plus, as an industry main, holy shit Null has been a barren wasteland. Honestly, the idea that we might be getting either new ores, or at the very least, finally getting some goddamned variety in Null has me more excited than anything else. Mining in Null for the last few years can be summed up as: Do you want to mine anything except Bistot? No? WELL TOO FUCKING BAD, because there is literally nothing else to mine. Someone else already mined out the Arkonor and Mercoxit from the same exact five anomalies, with the same exact ores, in the same exact layout that spawn in every single system, and no other ores spawn in nullsec, BECAUSE REASONS. And nothing is going to respawn in the next four days unless you clear out that 1+ million m3 of Bisot in the anomaly, and then wait four hours for it to respawn. Hope you enjoy your 'barely better than Veldspar' mining, because that's all there is if you don't have a moon available to mine. And even then, have fun putting your 5-10 billion isk Rorqual on grid and locking it in place so you can make enough money per hour that you'll **eventually** make enough back to replace the Rorqual in 30 or 40 hours. Seriously - The biggest thing I'm excited for in this patch is that this could finally breathe some much-needed life back into nullsec industry and mining. Right now if you're not mining Arkonor, Bistot, or a moon, you have basically nothing mining-wise to do to make money. This could finally be a chance to bring Isogen back down to a reasonable price, and hopefully bring the cost of a lot of the larger ships back down to reasonable levels.

This tbh, I feel like if ccp actually wants the game to stay afloat they should update/rework missions as it’s what you typically see first as a new player, atleast when I started playing. It would also work well with the recent expansions. Granted Pi definitely needed some kind of rework and hopefully this turns out better than it seemed from this video.

You could always lock the pi with pocos, rhis just tske it out of the hands of players and into the hands if null mega empires same like the new passive moon mining

@@bronzejourney5784 lol I have played eve since 2005 and red moon rising update and done everything from high sec to wormhole living in a POS before we could build stations. I would not touch fortnight with a 100-foot barge pole. Eve is 90% spinning in a station waiting for fleet ops to start and nothing like their trailers. You're the kid if you can not accept reality.
