You've seen the car-chases in "Robbery", "Bullitt" and "The French Connection" - now check THIS out. Remy and his chums are best known for supplying the vehicular mayhem for "The Italian Job" and several Bonds - but they were STARS in Europe. As here, Remy preferred to use the Fiat 124/5 when possible - for it's inherent INSTABILITY. Today, they are still made (with thicker metal) as Ladas! This Euro-pudding features Jean-Paul Belmondo and Omar Sharif - "Cairo Fred" to his friends!
Footnotes: When "Burglars" ("Le Casse") was filmed, all the dialogue scenes were shot twice - once in French and then again in English (by the same actors). And Remy still lives - he's currently 79 - and just three years ago, he worked as stunt coordinator on the car scenes in "The Da Vinci Code" that were shot in Paris. The man's unstoppable!

Fiats were known in England for selling cars with rust ridden bodies, but the engines were absolutely brilliant.

Because of your absurd climate and briny wind Not to mention the habit to spread sand & salt every road. Just wash thoroughly the underbody every springtime and make regular ( namely body) checkup .Blame lax owners not Fiat

Les voitures sont moins belles que dans Bullitt mais la poursuite y est plus spectaculaire surtout qd on pense que pour certaines scènes Verneuil 🎩n'avait pas toutes les autorisations et ils étaient à certains moments dans la vraie circulation, notamment qd c'est filmer de loin Rémy Julienne RIP 🎩😎👍

Omar Sharif is the smarter driver preserving his car much more. Not taking stairs for instance. The result is visible at the end, the Opel is mostly intact while the Fiat is a wreck.

I was 11 years old when I experienced the scene live at 7:09 because the shooting took place in the neighborhood where I was born. unrepeatable, magical !!!!! but i think belmondo was driving alfa rome but it would probably be in the test shots

Those Fiats were mighty unstable (more prone to spinning out than any other production car) - but this made them IDEAL for stunt-work - rather like planes with anhedral wings.

Sorry , Not so bad ; is a 124 special T ...with 1600 cc engine tunned and better suspensions so better than many cars in 70 s

no English subtitles its availble with amazon, I recently purchased, I would definitely recommend, even though I couldn't understand it.

WHY DO I HAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT IN THE SCENE IN WHICH ABEL SAYS ''GOOD BYE MR ....MR.....'' ,ABEL IS MOVING HIS BODY IN A DIFFERENT WAY FROM THE FRENCH VERSION ,IN EXACTLY THE SAME SCENE ???

Not Fast Likes Ferrari. The Fiat 124 Special Model From 1972. Colour: Red. He drives Jean-Paul Belmondo his car and chase with opel from 1964. The 124 special is the green lime colour of the movie "Il polizotto e marcio" from 1974. The spectecular car chase is alfa-romeo from 1963. The engine likes ferrari but the belmondo drives fast and furious. The fiat 124 is my favourite car every world. My jack has got a Fiat 124 Special from '72. the car is lovely. And in 1968 the fiat 124 licence by seat in (1968-1980). In 1960s the 124 in Russia called Lada or vaz 2101. In 1968 the fiat 125p has got door handles likes the 1966 fiat 124 model
