Was the singer George's aunt, the late great Rosemary Clooney? I know that she guest-starred on an episode of "ER" about midway through the series, around the time that the legendary actress and singer was doing those Coronette bath tissue TV commercials. Rosemary Clooney died a short time after that "ER" episode aired, if memory serves correctly.

But at least she ended up going to be with him sooner than later. But that broke me that she had the babies without him. I know he had to go off and be a big movie star and all that but like… that moment needed to be shared with Doug. He was after all such a great person with kids and knew he didn’t wanna be like his dad and be there for his kids. So it sucks that she kinda kept it all separate from him. But at least that didn’t last long and they got to grow up with their parents together and in Seattle.

simon marshall Tag did that because he knew that she didn’t love him, that she was still in love with Doug and Doug was still in love with her but, both are pretty screwed up in season 1 and seeing other people it took until the end of season 3 to know how much they loved each other and Doug was less of the womaniser he was and wanted Carol only.

Doug would've kicked Tag's ass. Tag was extremely jealous and he knew Doug was right. Everytime Carol would get in a pinch of helplessness, She would go running to Ross. So, they were both the blame.

The actress is Andrea Parker. She played ironically enough, Miss Parker on the show Pretender which was also on NBC.

Danish it wasn’t a decade. She had his babies, so it can’t have been more than two years.

Danish Miller It was the end of season 6 so it’s actually 6 years, and Carol had two rebound relationships from Doug, Tag whom jilted her at the alter because he knew ( even though she wouldn’t admit it to herself) that her heart was still with Doug and Shep whom she cared about but wasn’t in love with and when he became unstable due to his grief and survivor guilt over his best mate and working partners death - she told him that she couldn’t be with him anymore as she was finally stable herself and he needed help which he refused so he left. Those are the only two “ lovers” you see her with on the show besides Doug who is the love of her life and he is hers but in this scene, both of them are messed up, we meet Doug’s father and Doug blames him for his lack of commitment to women particularly Carol whom he hurt so badly that she tried to end her life. By season 3, Doug is less of the lothario he was being and wants to be with Carol only and Carol is more together in herself, they admit and show their feelings in the final episode when they snog outside her house. From then on, they are a couple and stay together, Doug leaves in Season 5 ( Clooney’s contract was up and he didn’t renew it) after he inadvertently tells a mother of a disabled child about the medicine he is taking and she apparently uses the information to kill her son. He takes a job in Seattle and asks Carol to come with him but she wants him to stay and refuses ( Julianna had another year on her contract I suspect). She later discovered she was pregnant with their twin daughters and she said he wanted to come back immediately but she told him not too. After giving birth to their daughters ( and almost dying in the process), she rings him about it. She procrastinates for the entire rest of the season, Doug is seeing the kids off screen and she finally realised she should be with the man that she loves, as corny as that is we have seen that it’s true. As she pointed out to Luka ( who was drawn to her perhaps because she reminded him of his late wife ), that she had been in love with Doug forever ( she had also hated him too for messing her up) and wanted to be with him as a family. It’s a TV show and not meant to be realistic but the writers meant for Doug and Carol to be together from the pilot but had to go through a lot of drama in order to settle with each other in the end. Doug actually also asked Carol to marry him in Season 4 but she needed time, so no he wasn’t with anyone else in Seattle and it was Carol “ dragging her heels” over him for a long time, even when she had his babies, she swallowed her pride and followed her heart and there is nothing wrong with that.

She didn’t just show up. they had a relationship before he left Chicago she ended up having his twins..

I agree. Can’t understand why people thought Clooney was good in this. He had the same face and facial expressions as in Roseanne. He could never make eye contact or have an emotionally honest or intimate moment with anyone, man or woman. the only role I enjoyed him in was good night and good luck and of course the superficial comedies oceans franchise.
