Forward Facing Omni Breeze VS Aerloom - • Why the Ergobaby Omni ...
The Ergobaby Omni 360 has a weight limit of 20kgs, whereas the weight capacity of the Ergobaby Aerloom is 15.9kgs. While most parents aren’t using their baby carrier up to that full 20kgs limit, it is something to keep in mind if a higher weight capacity is important to you.
The Ergobaby Aerloom is made from polyester and I understand some parents would prefer to use a baby carrier with natural fibres, which is an option with the Ergobaby Omni 360 Cotton. Though note the Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Mesh is also made from a polyester fabric.
As an overall impression the Ergobaby Aerloom is the more premium of these two carriers - which is reflected in the price point.
It is made from their new “FormaKnit” fabric, meaning it’s made from a knitted fabric rather than a woven fabric. Knitted fabric has a little more stretch and also can be knitted into curves, so it is more comfortable and moulds to the shape of your body.
Also because of the innovative FormaKnit fabric the Ergobaby Aerloom is super lightweight and is Ergobaby’s lightest weight carrier.
Another big reason to choose the Ergobaby Aerloom is it’s designed to be an eco-friendly baby carrier and is made from 87% post consumer recycled polyester. In fact, 26 recycled water bottles go into each and every Ergobaby Aerloom.
Finally from a practical point of view, I found the Ergobaby Aerloom easier to adjust to my body than the Ergobaby Omni - especially around the shoulder straps. It all just seemed to sit comfortably with minimal adjusting. I think this is due to the knit fabric and the ergonomically curved shapes of the shoulder straps. For new parents, particularly if they don’t have someone to help them correctly fit their baby carrier the first time, being a little easier to fit and position is a huge benefit.

Which one would be more comfortable for baby to take naps in? Also, does the Aerloom have a head cover? I'm SO torn between the two, it's maddening!

Hi Annie, it's so hard because they're both great baby carriers. There's no wrong choice! Personally I find the Aerloom a little bit more comfortable because of the way it forms to your body. But the Omni does have the extra extended head support for a taller baby. Either of them are the best baby carriers on the market so you really can't go wrong. Good luck!

Hi Ines, great question! If it's just for around the house I'd say the Aerloom is a better option because the waist band flips in and under making it easier for sitting down with bubs so you can eat/watch tv etc. Otherwise I'd recommend an Ergobaby Embrace if you're just looking for an easy, comfortable carrier that's mostly just getting used at home for the first 12 months - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/js2llJenu7awo4k.html The Embrace is more of a softer / wrap hybrid style of carrier, just it doesn't have a back carrying position like the Omni and Aerloom.

The shape to the Aerloom looks similar to the babybjorn harmony. Do the shoulder straps on it have padding?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa. Overall the style and structure of the Baby Bjorn Harmony and Aerloom are quite different even if there are some visual similarities in the shape of the panel. I'll go into more detail with that on your comment on the Ergobaby Aerloom video - I'll also make a video for you, I think there's some things here that are easier to show than tell! Regarding the padding the Aerloom is lightly padded on the shoulders, but it's a more sculpted/body formed shape, so even with less padding it feels more comfortable on the shoulders compared to some carriers even with a lot of shoulder padding. I hope that makes sense! Thanks, Rachel.

I am trying to decide between these two carriers! I was originally going to buy the omni, but I’m 5’2”. I’m worried it’ll be too long for my body. What do you think?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicole, thank you for your comment! It's tricky to say what will work best for you without trying it on, because everyone's proportions are different, but if you're concerned that the Omni might be too long or bulky on you, then the Aerloom is a great alternative. Especially if you are proportionally more petite in the torso and wanting to be ably to carry a baby up to 12+ months. And it will still fit a taller, broader parent as well. So it can adjust between parents or other care givers. If possible I'd recommend trying one on to see how it fits - the Omni might still be fine. Most baby retailers (in Australia) will stock the Ergobaby Omni and should have a display model to try on. Unfortunately though I don't think many physical retail stores stock the Aerloom to try. I hope that helps! - Rachel

What is the height limit of your baby in forward facing position in Aerloom vs Breeze?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral Жыл бұрын
Hi Jahmeel, there's not a specific height limit for forward facing, it's really limited by what size/weight you feel comfortable carrying in that position, but I would say that the Ergobaby Omni will be comfortable for longer forward facing because it is a bit better in terms of the positioning.

Would you be able to share which is more breathable among these 2 carriers?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, great question! I should have included this in the video. If comparing the Aerloom to the Omni Breeze specifically (rather than the Omni 360 Cotton) I don't think one is dramatically more breathable than the other. They are both lightweight, breathable carriers so they both would be good for summer babies, warmer climates or active parents. - Rachel

Can you cross back straps in the aerloom??
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 11 ай бұрын
You can't cross the straps but they do curve inward making a nice snug fit across the shoulders/back. Normally I'd suggest crossing straps if you're petite/narrow/sloping shoulders but the shaping on the Aerloom gives a similar fit but with less bulk.

@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I don't think there's one I'd recommend strongly over the other in terms of heat/humidity. They're both lightweight and breathable. I'd say choosing between them would be based more on their features and which suits your needs best. Let me know if there's anything else you'd specifically need in a carrier and I can see if that might make a difference! Thanks, Rachel..

@@ParentingCentral Thank you! In that case I do have a question lol After having my son I now experience all over back pain but mostly in my lower back area. So carrying him makes it worse and I was wondering which would you recommend would be better on my back/shoulders? Thanks!

Great question. And my super helpful question is they are both really well designed for providing ergonomic support so they should both be really comfortable and supportive. I personally found the Ergobaby Aerloom a bit easier to adjust and get a great fit. Can I ask if you're particularly tall or petite? If you have a shorter torso I always recommend the Aerloom - it will work perfectly for taller parents, but it's great for parents who are shorter. Otherwise if you're average/taller I personally also love the LILLEbaby carrier for the really supportive waistband and the lumbar support. The LILLEbaby Airflow / Airflow DLX are on the same level of breathable as the Omni and Aerloom. LILLEbaby DLX vs Ergobaby Omni Breeze video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hL6Jda9kv7TKqX0.html

Hello! What would you recommend for c-section mamas? It seems like the aerloom comes up a bit higher so I might be able to start baby wearing sooner / more comfortably. Would that be a fair observation?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 4 ай бұрын
Good question. I don't think it would make a big difference because on most bodies the waistband would be worn high on the waist for a newborn to have them close enough to kiss the top of their head. But if someone is particularly petite/short in the torso they would have the waistband down lower. I still think it's unlikely even with the omni to sit on the incision (on a regular horizontal c-section) with a fresh newborn size baby. But I'd recommend the Aerloom for a very petite parent anyway. So I don't think c-section would really make a difference with deciding between the two carriers. But it's a good question. I really had to think it through (using my own scar for reference)

I have two questions! Which carrier would you say is the best for back carrying, mostly just for around the house? Have you reviewed the lalabu baby carrier?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 11 ай бұрын
I haven't reviewed the Lalabu carriers. If you're looking at the "Simple Wrap" it does look like it could be quite a sweet newborn carrier for front carry position, it looks soft and reasonably easy to use. However it doesn't look like it would offer much support for the wearer with a bigger baby and based on their video instructions for back carry I'm a little concerned about the lack of chest clip/chest pass to secure the shoulders. There's lots of great carriers suitable for back carrying - my go to recommendations for soft structured carriers that can be used for back carrying are Ergobaby Omni range, Ergobaby Aerloom, LILLEbaby carriers. But I'm happy to make a personalised recommendation if you can let me know if there's anything else you want/need in a carrier and roughly the age you're planning to use the carrier from and to.

Hello, which would you recommend for longer carrying? Or for outdoor use, hiking, baby wearing workouts?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral Жыл бұрын
Either will be comfortable for all day and working out etc. I personally find the shape of the Aeroloom shoulder straps a bit more comfortable compared to the Ergobaby Breeze, but I think it could be pure preference not that one is better than the other. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but they are both great carriers! If you're in Australia I can see if I can recommend a retailer that stocks both if you haven't seen them both in person.

Ok, I was debating between the Breeze and Baby Tula Explore and now they come out with this... Help! 😄
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
I hear you! They're all great carriers and it would be hard to choose between them. Especially when it's highly unlikely you'd find a store with all three to compare side by side. For what it's worth I have also review the Tula Explore - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q55zqqSIzd6yYJ8.htmlV It depends on exactly what you want in a carrier, what features are most important to you. So If it helps here are the main reasons I'd choose one over the others if comparing these three carriers: Omni Breeze - in my opinion this has the best forward facing functionality, and will be the all-round more popular carrier of the three. Aerloom - the recycled material/sustainability is obviously a big feature but it's also more suitable for a petite parent with the knit fabric creating less bulk and the waistband design is good for a short torso (though it will also accommodate taller/broacher parents). Tula Explore - the range of colours/designs. Also at it's widest the panel is bigger and will provide knee to knee support for a larger toddler for longer. Also if it's something that matter to you, the regular Tula is Explore is 100% cotton. Though I did find this one a bit warmer/bulkier than the other two options. And just for fun I thought I'd throw another option at you: Moby Move - ticks similar boxes to the above carriers (newborn to 20kgs, 4 carry positions, similar overall structure) but it offers great value for money. Similar bigger panel size as the Tula Explore, while being light and breathable: My review here - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hpafa62d3cC4nnU.html I hope that helps narrow down the options! Let me know if you have any questions.

@ParentingCentral

Hi there! Great question. It can be tricky getting a perfect fit sometimes. The first thing I'd check is the strap that goes across the back. It could either be you need to slide the strap lower down OR tighten up that strap (bringing the shoulder straps closer together at your shoulder blades) OR a combination of both. Let me know if that explanation doesn't make sense, I can make a quick video showing what adjustments to make and what it does. I can also do a fit check for you if you'd like to send through a picture of you wearing the carrier - ideally one taken from the front and one from the back. Feel free to blur/crop faces if you prefer. You can email to mail@parentingcentral.com.au or send a message via Facebook facebook.com/ParentingCentralAustralia/ Just let me know what would be most helpful for you! - Rachel

@@ParentingCentral I’ll do that tommorow . I was supposed to have a fit session video call with ergo baby directly today but I went over at another appt and didn’t make it :: i have a pic of my backside but need front I do have the back strap all the way down and pretty tight I don’t know I could do any tighter and get it on. I deff e tried again and adjusted it and it was more comfortable but still the padding stops at my back doesn’t even curve around to underarm in any way but adjusting and having my baby sit higher helped with the straps rubbing my underarms for sure
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Good to hear it's feeling a bit better. Sometimes just fiddling around tightening and loosening straps you can find the spot that works for you. The other thing possibly is brand new carriers can feel a bit stiff - so don't feel quite right even if you have everything set up correctly. They do soften over time with use. But running a carrier through the wash (following their washing instructions) a couple of times can help start to loosen it up a bit. But definitely send through some pictures and I'll see if there's anything I can suggest. - Rachel
