You're so welcome! Written instructions for baby carriers are so tricky because it's so different to watching an actual person put it on their body. Also preparing it for newborn - I had to find a video to make sense of it to then be able to make the video. Let me know if you need any more help with it! - Rachel

Hi Rachel! Love your videos and I so badly want to buy this carrier! Wondering what your thoughts are on the softness though. I bought the omni breeze (since we live in Louisiana and its super hot and humid) but the mesh on the straps irritated my shoulders. Do you find the aerloom to be any softer? I also have the cotton original, but it's really hot for our climate! Thank you!

Great question! Such a tricky with the cooler lighter mesh style carriers is they're typically not as soft and smooth as full cotton. I just had a feel of both the Aerloom and Breeze fabric, specifically on the shoulders, and they feel very much the same in terms of softness. I know the LILLEbaby Airflow DLX has softer cotton on the edges of the panels (for baby's thighs) but I don't have one on hand to check the shoulders. But I think it is the same sweat wicking mesh fabric that can feel a bit rougher on bare skin. Though keep in mind carriers do tend to feel stiffer straight out of the box, so if it's new maybe wash it a couple of times and see if it does soften up a bit over time. I hope that helps! - Rachel

Such a good question Sierra, I live in Queensland, Australia so also very sticky and humid in summer! Did you end up buying the Aerloom? If so have you found the fabric on both yours and bubs skin comfortable on hot days?

Hi Rachel, I’d love to see a demo/hear your opinion on wearing the Aerloom in the front facing and back positions? Does the carrier have good head support for when bub falls asleep? I found with the Ergobaby Original my bubs head and neck would roll around unsupported when he nodded off…

Hi Caz - great questions! A lot to unpack. I feel like this could be three videos - so I'm genuinely thankful for content ideas! For forward facing - personally I prefer the Ergobaby Omni range for forward facing as they (in my opinion) are the only carriers that really achieve that optimal M position forward facing. But Aerloom and other carriers are totally fine to use, but because the legs do hang down rather than scoop up, it's just not as "optimal". I have been planning for a while to make a video about this - comparing the Ergobaby Omni to a couple of different carriers - so I'll include the Aerloom in that video. I'll aim to put together that video this week and drop the link here! For back carry - I will also make a video demonstrating Aerloom back carry position. Your question made me realise there's some interesting pros and cons for the back carry position due to the design of the waist band (that relate to forward facing). For head support - another really great question that deserves a whole video! Feel free to let me know if there was any specific age or carry position where this was the biggest challenge for you (ie toddler on back, newborn on front etc) and I'll make sure I'm covering that scenario. And feel free to let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks! - Rachel

hi rachel, great video! which would you recommend for daily use around the house (and sometimes to the grocery store) for newborn to toddler? boba x or aerloom? thanks!
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mutia, great question! it really depends on which features you're looking for. The Boba X will definitely last longer in terms of how big a toddler you'll fit - easily 3-4 year old+ on your back. I feel like the Aerloom panel being smaller won't last that long ( but then not many people plan to carry big toddlers anyway!) The Aerloom is more form fitted/shaped, has lower back support, more "luxury" fabric feel. So either are going to be great though for at home or to the store etc. Let me know if you need more info! Thanks, Rachel

Do you find that there will be enough head support for an older sleeping baby? I just ordered it for my 2 month babe and feel that it will be close to the holy grail of minimal carriers, however I am concerned about head support and wish so much that there was a hood. Then it would likely be perfect!
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Meg, great question! With the head support, for a younger baby I have found as long as the carrier is coming up to around their ear there should be enough support to keep a sleeping baby supported. It's not necessary to have baby's whole head covered for them to have enough support to sleep comfortably. As they get older they tend not to need so much head support as they grow, even when asleep. Keeping in mind the panel does get taller than shown in the video, as I only showed in the newborn setting. While it's not the tallest carrier on the market, but it should be plenty for an older baby sleeping, even a small toddler, without needing to support their head by hand when their asleep. I've also used a couple of carriers with hoods and while they can be good privacy/or weather protection they don't necessarily offer a lot of actual head support. I ended removing hoods and storing them away because I don't particularly use them. I hope that helps! If you have any specific fitting question when it arrives let me know. Cheers! Rachel

I had the Ergobaby Sport too! (13 years ago now!) Similar reasons - living in Australia it was one of the lighter weight options at the time. The overall structure/design is quite similar. The key differences are the waistband tucking under, and the knit fabric.

I’m trying to choose between Ergobaby Omni Breeze or Aerloom but don’t know which one. I’m trying to pick one that is easy to get on and off, provides upper and lower back support, is comfy and safe for baby’s hips/spine, and can be worn comfortably for long periods of time. i have a newborn and toddler now so i want to invest in a good one since I’ll be using it everyday. I was gonna go with the babybjorn Harmony carrier but they were sued here in the states for lack of proper hip support on their original carrier and it makes me warry 😬
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, both the Aerloom and Omni are very comfortable carriers you can wear for long periods of time. Both are very ergonomic and optimal for both you and baby in terms of back/spine/hip support. The key reason I'd recommend the Omni is the optimal forward facing, the Ergobaby Omni range in my opinion are the only carriers that really achieve M positioning and full knee to knee support in a forward facing position. The Aerloom is my go-to recommendation for petite parents. It's perfectly comfortable if you're taller and broader as well! But a great option if you have a short torso. Also the eco/sustainability is a big selling point for parents. Also for what it's worth I'm trying to get my hands on an Baby Bjorn carrier - it may not be a Harmony, but I'll try to find as similar as possible to that model - so I can make a video comparing the two styles of carrier because I think it will make a lot more sense if I can show the differences side by side and how they work. I'll keep you updated with how I go with it! Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime. Thanks, Rachel.

@@nursedad519 i went with the Ergobaby Omni Breeze. I tried on the babybjörn harmony in the store and it was super confusing to put on. It felt like there was so much going on since it’s very customizable. The Ergobaby is much easier. I watched videos on both and the Ergobaby was easiest to remember how to put on compared to the babybjörn imo

Thanks for the review. Is the fabric breathable? How is it compare to the Ergobaby omni breeze in that matter?
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chenchit! Thank you for your question! It is breathable and because the material is very lightweight it doesn't feel like you're wearing much of anything, so the lightness and breathability between them isn't significant. If you're tossing between the Aerloom and Omni Breeze - I'd choose the Aerloom for that knit style fabric, luxury feel and sustainable fabric. And I'd choose the Omni Breeze for the higher weight limit (20kgs compared to the Aerloom 15kgs), better forward facing positioning and the option to cross the straps over at the back. Rather than choosing one for being more breathable - if that makes sense? I think they're going to feel more or less the same.. I'll be doing a full Aerloom VS Breeze comparison. I can pop the link here when it's done. :) - Rachel.

Hi Prune, thank you for your comment. I've had to ask Ergobaby for another Aerloom to make the comparison video as the one I've used in this video I did a product giveaway with and they've agreed to send me another one! So there will be a video comparison and some more Aerloom videos coming soon! So feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions about either the Aerloom or Omni Breeze and I'll make sure I cover that in the video. Then I'll pop the link in here when it's done.

I don't think there's one for this model specifically. I've had a little Google and nothing jumped out at me, but I feel like I would look for an Etsy shop or similar that's making bibs and see if they can make one that would fit it.

The Ergobaby Aerloom is my go to recommendation for petite parents, especially if you want to be able to use it all the way to a toddler (with a back carry) Or the Ergobaby Embrace - though the Embrace only does front carry, not a back carry. So more suitable for just the first year.

Hi Jasmine, thank you for your comment. For what it's worth I'm not paid for my review, and although I did used to work for the Australian distributor of Ergobaby, I now work for a different brand in the industry, so I am definitely independent from Ergobaby when I made this video. Also, for what it's worth, I just rewatched the video and I can hear what you mean. I do have a bit of an infomercial persona when I do my reviews. I don't know if I can do them any other way, I think this is just how I sound in front of a camera. But thank you for your feedback! If there was anything specific you were wanting to get out of this review let me know and I'll keep it in mind for next time. Kind regards, Rachel

@@ParentingCentral Hi, thanks for the reply! I really like super minimal and simple gear but I guess some of the complexity here is what makes it very adaptable. My baby is 2 months old and I'm looking for something really comfy (she is a wee bit fussy) and something that will last a while. The Aerloom looks like it's stretchy and comfy do you have any other carriers you would recommend over this one? By the way, your videos are very informative, great stuff!
@ParentingCentral
@ParentingCentral 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words - I really do appreciate it! Like most carriers the Aerloom is pretty simple and straight forward once it's set up - it is just a bit of an unusual process to set up with the way it loops though the waistband. I also think it looks more complicated than it is because of the flapping around with straps etc. In terms of things I'd recommend over the Aerloom it depends on which other features you're looking for aside from nice comfy fabric? For example: What age would you plan to carry until (1, 2, 3+ years) How important is forward facing (like most important feature vs happy to have the option) Approximately how tall and broad OR petite are the adults wearing the carrier? (or pretty average) Any physical challenges to consider (back pain, low flexibility etc) Let me know and I'll give you some more suggestions!
