He is the strongest man out there. When this happened he was a recovering alcoholic and drug addict and he remained clean and sober through it all. I'll be honest I don't know if I could've.

I saw him shortly after he began touring after this awful trajedy Bawled my eyes out through out this songI really dont think I could have played it. I assume it was his outlet for his grief in a way. Hes a master. I have seen him 5 times. Im a lucky woman. .

It's always good to see a reaction, from someone who listens to the full song without interrupting it, then speakig at the end, that is what you call courtesy for the song.

I'm still so sad for Eric, a man who has brought so much joy to the world through his music and has suffered so much tragedy...losing his son like this, loosing part of his band in the helicopter crash that killed Stevie Ray Vaughn, loosing friends through the years like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, George Harrison, etc.!!! So much tragedy!! This is still one of the best MTV Unplugged shows EVER!!

This song is one of the few songs a grown man can cry to without feeling less of a man. Any man that doesn't get teary eyed over such a song, are dead inside. I am man enough to say I cry every time I hear this song. Especially knowing the truth behind this song.

Eric sure sounds English in this view when he is talking. After all of the hell he has been thru hell still sings well. His guitar work speaks for itself. They only made one Clapton!! This event would be soul crushing and could destroy many women & men's relationships. God it is wonderful......

Since I saw him live with 12 years old, doing amazing and magical things with the guitar, I always wanted to play like he does. And creating such a beautiful and heartfelt song from his biggest tragedy...¡DAMN! Great song and great reaction, Becks 👏👏👏

My relation to Eric Clapton has always been personal. My aunt worked at Live Nations in the '70s. She worked as a host and greeted the bands, artists when they visited Stockholm on their tours. Among the artists, she showed around was Eric Clapton. I went to his concerts because of her. But I didn´t meet him in person. Even though I had the opportunity Yes, this song is heartbreaking when you know the background to it. But. There is another instrumental version of it that deserves listening to. And that is the bassist's Kanga Glyk´s of tears in heaven: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZiBoNd2s6zMYo0.html

Eric said he cried every day for 4 years for every day that Connor was on this earth. The day before the accident Eric said he finally realized what having a child was. He loved Connor and he loved playing with him whenever they saw each other but he just didn't get what a blessing it is to have a child until the day before the accident. He wanted Connor and his mother to come back to Germany with him and live and Connors mother agreed. So It was Connor's 4rth birthday plus him amd mommy were going to fly back to Germany with daddy and on top of that they were going to the carnival. So to say Connor was over the moon the day he died is an understatement.
