Actor, musician, and comedian Eric Idle sits down with Bob for his first in-person episode in over a year! Eric Idle is a former member of the British surreal comedy group Monty Python and the parody rock band The Rutles and is also the writer of the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical Spamalot. Idle tells stories from his past productions and explains to bob why the pandemic is like the 18th century.

Wow! Bob, you were amazing and I saw how you were in awe of Mr. Idle. Mr. Idle was brilliant, witty, charming, sharp and amazingly down-to-earth. I felt like I was sitting across from you two in a chair in the same room and was humbled by Mr. Idle and his telling of his amazing experiences. Thank you Bob. And, Thank You Mr. Idle. I not only got to Spamalot when it opened in Chicago but I got to meet Eric just before the show started. My friend showed me Grail and I was hooked. Thank you for having on such an amazing icon

I just ran across this interview. Honestly, I had no idea that Bob had a podcast. I shouldn't be surprised as everyone seemed to create a podcast around the time of Covid, therefore I never went looking for Bob. Watching this video really hits hard. Eric talking about the (then) recent passings of Terry Jones, Robin Williams, George Harrison and Bob mentioning his sister.... Then the song at the end. Two of the funniest men on the planet talking about life and death. Bob was taken way too soon.

Quickly let me say I love this interview so much. When Eric said he sat with and got to know Chevy, I then realized that must have been in the 1st season of SNL. Chevy left after season 1, being replaced by Bill Murray.

What a fantastic interview! So much brilliance in one room. One… plain white room in need of a little decor… but I digress… I absolutely loved the stories and anecdotes, the genuine heartfelt philosophical segues, it was all so lovely. (With the exception of the plain white walls of course. Buy some paint Bob.)

For the Grail battle scene...why would they battle for a thing that wasn't there? I guess wars are prone to start with a lie as films are prone to stop with the money.

I send my sympathies to Saget’s family but, quite frankly, I’ve never found him the least bit funny. Eric Idle is in a completely different league comedy-wise.
