I met Eric before his gig in Minneapolis back in 92. He was the most humble and genuine souls I have met outside of Arvo Pärt. Both are national treasures.

Very quiet and reserved guy. Very nice gentleman. I always enjoy his talent. I am glad he is still doing what he does best.

Absolutely flawless. I bought this album on cassette, 20+ years ago, and this sounds the EXACT same. Absolutely amazing.
@damionbeanstormchasing9892Ай бұрын
Not even close to flawless! Let’s start with the tempo, way to fast and that alone caused him to miss a lot!
@grissellevirga9936Ай бұрын
@@damionbeanstormchasing9892 Agree, I get it age catches up with you, missed nnites and timing. I'll add I never finished this song and could only get through on my best day 70% of it... For guitarist this was one of those bench mark songs...

EJ is Master Class ... still Rockin ! Drummer is a bit out in front on this one live ... bassist keeps trying to grab his attention and reel him back in which is so awesome live reality.
@frankconway918417 күн бұрын
Agreed he is to fast. Sounds like coked up Aerosmith in the late 70s. 😮. Missing the groove. Needs a click track. Just saying.
@AudioWonderland16 күн бұрын
@@frankconway9184 You can keep sayin' it and keep being wrong. Do you know who that drummer is? I will take Keith Carlock's interpretation of the time over just about anyone's. Sound more like the fossils need to keep up to me
@CesarMontecristo14 күн бұрын
You’re actually incorrect. Eric was slightly in front of the beat since they all came in together. Mr. Keith Carlock was actually keeping a steady pocket. Eric was just probably a little amped up. Adrenaline can make you play stuff faster sometimes.

When you play on Eric's level there comes a time when you have performed your music so many times and improvised the solo's so many times that you can't top yourself no matter what you do and the intensity get's lost. I don't know if age causes it or just getting burnt out? If you go back to the old Austin City Limits performances on KZfaq for Cliff of Dover and Manhattan he was fresher and more focused than today. We all wear down eventually no matter what.
@kingsecho335116 күн бұрын
I agree. This was not tight at all.
@martydibergi522816 күн бұрын
okay guys, i personally will Never play this good. Show us Yours!!!!
@groovelife41513 күн бұрын
Well, for one, age really fucks you over. Two, He's played this so many times he's probably sick of it. I doubt he even practices outside of one or two run throughs before the tour. If you watch the Austin City Limits video you mentioned, you will see him completely botch a section and get mad. He shakes his head with displeasure. That leads me to #3, there is no perfect performance. If you can do it better, prove it.
