“I was in enough pain that I was willing to listen.” Pretty much sums it up. Humans are prideful, and until we get to the end of ourselves, we can’t be told anything. Some of my greatest periods of growth came after periods of failure and misery.

Now Julia, I'm sure Eric speaks the truth as he sees it, but of course, that doesn't mean that it's all the truth, you know, "in reality". But yes, he's smart, funny and quite likeable. You wouldn't just accept everything he says is a fact prior to running his statement through your critical thinkin filter would you?

He also has sarcastic humor... so when he jokes you can’t take it seriously! I trust him because I have been listening to him for a long time, & the church I attend has had him there several times. But I run everything through the filter of what the Bible says, what God says!!!

@@debrakeeler2816 ✝️ You trust him why, because your church has had him in ? The Bible explicitly says, that in the End-Times there will be false teachers; That people will follow because they want their ‘ears tickled’ and will become enchanted with ‘smooth talkers’. Do you know that he believes ‘works’ based Catholicism is OK ? Do you know that he believes the Earth is 13.8 billion years old, despite what the Genesis account says ? Do you know he only came to faith in a dream ? We don’t dream into being saved. We accept the offer of the grace of Christ and ‘consciously’ decide to accept the offer of salvation.

Amen!! I have known the worst of human nature...I've been beaten and abused and honestly assumed the worse of all men as a teen....but when I got saved I met some of the strongest, bravest, loving men. My husband is far from perfect. But there is nothing he wouldn't do or sacrifice for our family. He is the most self sacrificing, hard working, tough as nails, strong, and honest man I've ever known. God help anyone who tired to hurt an innocent. He is capable of great violence to protect those in need, yet gentle as a lamb with those in his care. That's what God designed men to be. I could never be more blessed by the good men in my life!

Some think sarcasm isn't very Christian. I love Jesus with all that I am and I'm sarcastic. So what?! We Shouldn't pigeon hole one another or our God. He has a sense of humor. Sarcasm is just a form of humor. There's also dry humor or what's called slap stick humor or dirty humor. Now that last one isn't appropriate for Christians.

God is a father who loves and the way he shows us is so profound! I had a broken relationship with my earthly father. When Eric mentioned that God is intimate and personal like how a father would kiss his kids all over the face. I had a dream where Gods gigantic hand picked me up, I sat in the palm of his hand. He then brought me close to him and started kissing me all over my face, and kept repeating to me, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU. I felt like his little daughter that was loved and adored. That started the process of healing in my heart.

Regarding your comments about politics, I felt about a year and a half ago that God told me to rise above politics and not talk about it anymore. Because if someone doesn’t agree with your politics, they are less likely to like you, in general. And if they’re less likely to like you in general, they’re less likely to want to listen to you about Jesus. And Jesus is the main point, the only point really. Our politics go with us to our graves. And so do those of those who think differently. We’re not trying to win them over to our way of thinking. We’re trying to win them over to Jesus. Let’s not put a stumbling block in people’s way because of our political egos.
@precognition9270

Sorry Suzanne, God didn't actually tell you anything at all because, he doesn't actually exist. No need to spend another minute trying to win anyone over to Jesus or the Christian way of thinking. Now you can be free to think for yourself and put time and effort into reality. I suspect you want to think and talk about politics freely, go for it.

✝️ They don’t know. They’re just slobbering all over his false faith and teachings. When one actually listens to what Metaxas says about his so-called faith, it’s readily apparent that he doesn’t believe in the same Jesus Christ as in the Gospels. The Bible explicitly says, that in the End-Times there will be false teachers; That people will follow because they want their ‘ears tickled’ and will become enchanted with ‘smooth talkers’. His being saved in a dream is nonsense. To receive the gift of salvation from Christ is a conscious decision we make. You don’t get saved by dreaming it. Period. Even if the idea did come from a dream, he would tell us his testimony about how he asked consciously asked Christ into his life. One thing I learned about him and I’m disappointed about, is that he believes the Earth and the universe is 13.8 billion years old. He’s buying into the ‘Day Age’ theory and mixing scientists guesswork with what the Genesis account clearly says. - Eric is taking the account of Sodom and Gomorrah literally, by dating it at 1700 B.C., then why isn’t he taking God’s account of creation literally ? - He says he’s all into the building evidence of God, yet there’s plenty of evidence of a young Earth (via the fossil record) that outweighs old Earth doctrine. - He rightly described God’s Creation as ‘scary cool’ in its magnificence, yet then why does he sell God short, that with all God created, that he didn’t create the universe in 6 literal, 24 hour days. God doesn’t need 13.8 billion years. He created our human bodies from his spoken word, but God needs 13.8 billion years to accomplish this ? - He’s taking God’s word into question, and that’s a real stumbling block for him.

The problem with Christians is that they are trying to sprint, before many people have learned to crawl. First way to a knowledge of God is to persuade people that the existence of God is possible. Then to persuade them that this is more likely than not, and then a necessary fact. To do this, the last possible thing a Christian should be doing is make all kinds of claims about Jesus, walking on water, or even so much as existing at all. As the Bible intimates, we must build our house on firm foundations. We must remember that once people are persuaded that creation is quite literally impossible, they don't even need Darwinism to show them how it may have been achieved. Modern physics, or Quantum Mechanics has already shown us the way. We don't need even Intelligent Design to show us that something as insanely ridiculous as Darwinism could not possibly have created all of the different forms of life we are surrounded by. All we need to do is show that consciousness is primary and matter is secondary, and everything else falls nicely into place. Suddenly EVERYTHING that once appeared impossible becomes possible, even seeming miracles such a men walking on water, and cell phones. It is difficult to produce consciousness, but this is almost infinitely easier then producing an entire infinite universe, without an even bigger factory in which to build it.

@Vail Marsh Yes Vail, you're displaying a very typical case of poor cognitive dissonance management. Not that poor if all you want to do is "feel good", but very poor if you want to approach the truth of something. By "Not Reading past the first line" you've avoided reading something potentially uncomfortable as it may not fit your feel good narrative. Blue Pill, if you will! To be open to allowing yourself to review information that may potentially make you feel bad, but at the same time, may also offer an opportunity to provide clarity or insight closer to truth in reality. Red Pill! So, you gonna stick with the Blue Pill?

43:45 Really? "Two separate kingdoms?" After Eric patiently explained to you why _Kingdom of God_ begins here on Earth. Yes, it only BEGINS here, and it can _never_ become a perfect copy of Kingdom of Heavens... but still, it does begin here. Proves you didn't understand a word he said. Or maybe you do understand but disagree? Should have argued against him when he spoke about that like a honest person, not sneak it in afterwards when he's not there to defend himself. O well, that's why we can't have nice things... Seriously.

Ppl love to be arrogant and say that only stupid ppl are Christian. But right there ppl love to believe they are superior to others. It's human nature. Try being a waitress or waiter, nothing makes one feel superior than giving those serving them a hard time, letting others know what their "role" is. This type of arrogance is the "sin nature", unwittingly proving the belief in Christianity to be true. We're self serving and evil....original sin.

It’s always interesting to hear homosexuals talk about Christianity. They are such much more accepting now in the church of that community. Good to see!

✝️ Don’t know what Jesus Christ you’re following. Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. 1 Corinthians 6 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 1 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

@@arturobandini792 I know, I understand. I’m just trying to help illuminate some (like me) who initially thought he really understood the doctrines of justification and sanctification. I’m just saying be careful that’s all. 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 1 John 4:1 Romans 16:17-18 Galatians 1:6-9

“We had a common culture and that common culture somehow allowed us to address our differences with civility” I’m not sure what common culture he’s referring to, but I do know that America has not had some golden age with a common culture. How can anyone think that we have, just think about Jim Crowe and the continuing horrible treatment of Black people. I would grant that people were not as polarized in the past for a number of reasons including the influence of social media and technology, but no one can claim that things were just fine for all Americans.

✝️🇺🇸 I totally agree, something just isn’t right about him. He absolutely never talks about his testimony to his personal salvation. I almost fell for his smooth talk myself. He talks in 1/2 truths. I find it very troubling that many many people, especially Pastors, just fawn and slobber over him.

The word trinity is not in the Bible. Isaiah 9:6 & John 14:26 tell us that the name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost is Jesus. Deuteronomy 6:4 & Mark 12:29 “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord. John 1:1 says that God is the Word. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh & dwelt among us. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angles, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. The “Holy One” appears over 50 times in scripture. The Trinity is a man made doctrine.
