Pastor Dowell I just had the same conversation/experience with Erie Metal roofing. The questions were so intrusive, I got paranoid. I was like all I want is quote. After that conversation I start doing a deep dive. I'm so glad I came across your video... I wasn't sure If I had truly contacted a roofing company. I didn't know what I got myself into...hahaha!

I’ve used the Zip system sheeting many times framing houses. One thing I liked to do whenever I had left over tape, is tape that bottom of the sheet where it meets the facia. If you’re in an area with a lot of moisture or snow, you can get ice bridging from melting of the snow and then when the water freezes back up. And when it freezes, apparently ice can climb up to 6 inches per freeze. Don’t quote me on the #. I do know it climbs though. And I have repaired soffits that often have had water find a way in at the bottom of the roof and where it meets the facia. Anyways, good looking house!!! Interested to see it when you’re finished.

They are too busy worrying about trivial things over the phone, instead of sending out a team to actually see what it is that the potential customer is looking to contracting them to do. (I guess) that's what happens when you get too big 'In the industry'? You start to get 'snooty' and 'selective' in who you interact with. Erie Metal Roofing is a sales company. I had nothing but positive experiences with them. Which I would hope to be the case since they’re the largest residential roofing company in America right now. And Owens Corning offer’s a 50 year manufactures warranty which is about as good as nothing. Erie Home offer’s a 50 year WORKMANSHIP warranty. HUGE difference. lol

I had a similar experience. Roofing company wanted my wife present at the time on the “presentation” found out later on from a friend, it is easier to sell to a couple than it is to a man.

Boral Steel® Stone Coated Roofing is the product that they call Erie metal roofing. Erie is a sales company not a contractor and will charge you 3x-6x the amount it should cost

I cant say anything about these clowns, but metal roofing is amazing, especially in the north where there is a lot of snow. The snow will stick when its very cold, but will slide right off when you get above freezing... half the time you do not even have to roof rake.... but on a shingle roof, it sticks and is a lot of work to clear.

Get a private contractor to come measure your roof, should be FREE, then YOU go order the metal yourself and have it delivered or you pick it up. Then Get the quote man back to install it, MUCH cheaper that way. I just had a metal roof put on this Fall, it is much better than shingles.

I’m a licensed General Contractor. Here is my experience. They will try charge you $80-$90,000 for a 1500 sf. The reason they ask for your wife to be present is so they can try to use her to pressure you to agree to the sale. It’s a typical sales tactic door to door salesmen use to try to get an over priced sale. I damn near threw the guy out on his head. What’s more insulting is that I told him I’m a licensed General Contractor. That should tell you that I know what a roof cost. He tried it anyway 😩🙄

I’m in Ohio and they did the same EXACT thing to me. I hung up the phone also. My house has a shingle roof and I’m going to replace it when it’s time but wanted to do some additional homework before so. They treated me the same exact way. TRASH COMPANY

Metal shingles have been around for awhile. Erie Metal Roofing happens to be a little less that trustworthy. I think I said that in a politically correct way. Decra metal shingles is a good brand but you have to find a local installer or do it yourself. Special tools are needed when doing a metal roof and you have to use screws so it takes longer. If you do a metal roof I recommend getting magnetic boots so you do not slip. Owens Corning 50 year shingles REQUIRE that you use their ENTIRE system. If you do it yourself you better have a video and lots of pictures of you putting EVERYTHING down according to THEIR instructions or use a professional APPROVED roofing contractor. Notice the caps. They are there to stress the points so that you get your 50 year warranty that happens to down rate every year after 25 years.

Problem is people do not have common sense to listen before they start speaking i look them up they're pretty shady

I have never seen a positive story about this company. Not one with the exception of their advertisements. I would NEVER, EVER use this company, their products etc. Count yourself lucky you didn't bite on these con artists.
