Erik Danielsson of Watain talks about various forms of inspirations for the band's music, as well as the current state of politics in extreme metal (including the black metal Nazi situation) and his opinion on it. Interview conducted at The Opera House on February 25, 2018 while the band was in Toronto on tour with Destroyer 666 and Revenge.

I agree with him. Everyone can write what they feel but forget the consequences of what they write or Say. Write what you wanna but also support it in a debate. And don't cop out either.

Thank you for uploading this, the day this was uploaded I met them the second time. WATAIN treat their fans well and with respect. Not to many bands come to a in store Meet and Greet and bring gifts for their wans....they do.

Perhaps you should all take into consideration that there’s a language barrier too. He seems fluent but some of you people are expecting him to give you a 100% explanation. I don’t know, though, whether he’d say the exact same thing when speaking his mother tongue.
