Lol, you might need longer than the quarantine to get this good with charge blade. I'm a charge blade main since the start of MHW and I'm not this good... Could be that I don't get to hunt solo this much. I've got to many friends playing with me and screwing up my combos.*shrug* it's whatever though, we're having fun and the job always gets done.

@neros_soren 4 жыл бұрын
No idea if you guys are serious or not, if yes: Especially the first few bloopers are jump back knockdowns, which lose time, by having to move in, or for lunastra, falling over the wrong way, because her knockdown triggered on her wrong paw. All of those lose time and are bloopers from a speedrun perspective .

@notquitenil
@notquitenil 4 жыл бұрын
Of note to the viewer: the "bloopers" at the end are closer to what your gameplay would usually look like. The maneuvers presented here require quite a bit of precision at the higher levels, and the knockdown and flinch chains only work in solo play. They're the kind of thing you'd see speedrunners reset a run dozens of times to pull off because they mistimed a single input. If you've managed to get to level 7 here, you can comfortably say you've mastered the Charge Blade. Anything further than that, and you're pushing into the territory of learning monster AI at a professional level. Not a bad thing by far, but definitely not for the faint of heart. And to Eri N: Keep up the good work. Always a pleasure to see someone reminding people that there's more to this fine weapon than just spamming SAED and crossing your fingers.
@kventinho
@kventinho 4 жыл бұрын
Yes in case some people don't realise, KO and stun threshold on the monsters get scaled up in multiplayer so you would never get the beautiful KO chain on kushala for example if you're not solo.

Level 10 is absolutely essential as a hunter though, and not just for CB players. Knowing how to read monster attacks and react accordingly is just as important as knowing how to control your weapon. Monster Hunter PH Elites recently uploaded a fantastic video on the "battle dance" that every MHW player should watch.
@Dracowinges
@Dracowinges 4 жыл бұрын
@@boxedinboxedout Well, not for me, I barely react 80% of the time a monster is doing anything and I made it through the game just fine. I can't read what it's doing as much as react and maaaaaybe do something about it...or just facetank it and keep attacking.
@ForeverMasterless
@ForeverMasterless 4 жыл бұрын
@@boxedinboxedout/videos There's a difference between general competence most good players have of knowing a monsters basic moves and recognize when a nasty attack is coming and avoiding it, and being so intimately familiar with the monster's AI that you can land hits based on where they're head going to be two seconds from now rather than where they are.

The thing that's always so difficult about mhw is that the monster ai is specifically programmed to be hard to predict. These are wild animals you are fighting and Capcom did a hell of a job replicating that level of instinctual chaos.
@bok4822
@bok4822 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. After 4U and Gen, World really felt much more like a "natural" game, where the monster AI is a lot less predictive. A lot can still be predicted, but I remember the jump in AI depth to be very much confusing at first.

Savage axe gp is really only for covering your ass when you go for SAED at a bad time. For exapmle, odogaron just hit you with a retreating tail whip. You gp it and attempt to counter attack with a SAED but he's about to attack you before you can get it off. Savage axe gp.

Every guard point in CB have it's use more or less. While morphing into axe is great because it's fast and easy. Transforming from axe have GP at the end of animation so you need to predict what monster will do. But looking at monsters moveset it's not that hard. I know it's "yeah, this guy probably have 1000 hours with it so it's easy for him". But it's just knowledge about monster and practice. Possible for everyone 🍻

CB is arguably the most complex of the 14 weapons. No one sucks with anything. You just have to unleash it's full potential. If CB isn't right for you, find a weapon that is. If you want to main CB no matter what like me, you have to put in the time to understand the weapon's abilities, strengths, weaknesses, as well as it's best and worst match ups which is why you want to learn each monster's basic, and even advanced, habits and figuring out how your weapon can best counteract it.

5:11 that's easy. Especially since you're playing solo, the KO threshold of monsters is pretty low. In MR a lot of monsters now sprint at you in an attack disregarding their own safety. Which is just asking to get guardpointed and thus they get knocked out.
