This video = result of me watching way too many period dramas atm and invariably choosing the most painful ships around to ship ç.ç
ITV's Victoria really surprised me as I went on watching, because at the beginning I found it pretty tedious, and couldn't stand Vic constantly whining about Lord M for 3 whole episodes and giving 0 f*cks about ruling and only thinking of herself all the time (sorry Vicbourne shippers, even though I will at least say Rufus Sewell was great in the role)...but then the Coburg brothers arrived to save the day, and the show changed from night to day to me and I loved the second half of the season. As much as Vicbert is OTP to me (all the chemistry!), though, the real surprise for me was this relationship here -- ahh, seeing David in such a sensitive, romantic role just melted my heart, it was about time he didn't play another crazy, power-starved villain. I loved everything about his Prince Ernest, and especially his relationship with both Albert and Harriet, the way he acted cool and a knowing courtier all the time but with them he showed his vulnerable, tender side. David's acting is always pretty subtle, but at the same time it hits you right with emotion at the exact moment it needs to and daww, I just fell in love with him a little bit more with this role. I seriously hope to see more of Ernest in s2, even though I already know this relationship won't go anywhere ;_;
(I also know I can be pretty nitpicky about historical accuracy when depicting real people, and this affair probably neverever happened considering the real Harriet and her husband were known to be a strong match and had 11 kids together...but ehhh, in this case you'll have to excuse me for making an exception, can't help it against David's lovelorn puppy eyes xD.)

Im in love with these two as well. Usually im rather a nag when it came to historical accuracy but right now seeing this pair, Ernest and Harriet i dont give a damn. I love them to bits.

I feel the same! I can be super nitpicky, but with these two I threw my credibility as a wannabe-historical nerd out of the window without a second thought. I actually haven't seen the finale yet, because I know it can't go well for them and I'm just postponing the hurt :(

Wow this is amazingly beautiful. I thought I'd never get over shipping Victoria & Lord M but these two are surprisingly sweet together. Its a little bit of a shock since I've only seen this actor play the jerk roles but in this he's so different and you've captured the almost innocent way he seems to care for her. (BTW I'm in US and this is just starting to show their flirtation episode and I'm hoping it doesn't end too badly for him.)

Really happy you like this! It's nice to see Vicbourne and Vicbert shippers find common ground by shipping these two, lol. And absolutely, David needs to take more roles like Ernest, he's totally endearing as him! (If you still have some of the show left to see I hope the video didn't spoil you too badly...^^'')

AW! i'm always a sucker David in period drama's and i must admit I'm a little surprise he's playing such a sensitive character! but now I defiantly need to watch this show ahaha (I was trying to cut down on the period drama's I swear I consume them like there's no tomorrow)but to hell with that and sign me up!!! Ernest is honestly my fav, so I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all :) (personally I do like Albert though, it's actually Victoria who annoys me at times ^^)

I love these two, David Oakes is rocking this character. I also like the head chef and victoria's first lady, and Lord M omg i will miss his character as will all who are invented in this saga. However it won't usurp downton.

I hope you're right! I'm trying to keep my expectations low so I don't get too disappointed if we don't, since historically speaking Ernest will get married too at some point -- and will also have to rule in Coburg so he can't be in England all the time. If things are already complicated for them now imagine then :(

I'm almost in tears...how amazingly stunning this edit is.....all the scenes I missed from my lack of cable. How beautiful.....gives the show bouncing contrast perhaps a new side series focus on Earnst ' s life in Cobourg.

I don't know this show,but it's great to see David in a new role,which is different from George,Juan or William. I don't like him with this moustache,it makes him look older,but nevermind. I'm happy to see him again. Voice is still hypnotising :-) T hank you for making this beautiful video

Hai visto, ce l'ho fatta pure io a editare questo tf ^^ non abbiamo più concluso quella conversazione iniziata, ma alla fine andando avanti mi hanno convinta sia il tf sia i Vicbert, per cui sono assolutamente on board with the fandom :D (tu sei sempre incurabilmente Vicbourne anche dopo aver concluso la stagione invece? ^-^) Il Quercia...credo che questo ruolo sia diventato il mio preferito in cui l'ho visto

I just subbed you.There are so many lovely Vicbourne and Vicbert videos no matter who you you ship, you got to admit but I haven't seen any videos of the other ships apart from yours and this crushed my feelings. I love this pairing and you vidded it wonderfuly. At first I wasn't a big fan of Ernest and found him very arrogant but as the episodes went we saw a different side of him and now I like him and this ship.Can you also make a Nancy&Francatelli video? Not even a video, maybe just a vidlet? :D

You're right, I am a Vicbert shipper but I have found some really enchanting Vicbourne edits, too -- and people who dislike vids just because they don't like the ship or characters are the worst to me, so it's really nice to read some appreciation for editing in general here ♥ also yasss, some more love for this ship! (How are these two called? Harnest?). I think I am accustomed to David playing the actual 100% arrogant jerk in period dramas, so I already loved Ernest from the start because I could tell he was just teasing here and not actually being a jerk for a change. I think when Harriet calls him "a sheep in wolf's clothing" she nails him to the core

Harnest sounds good. :D I also agre that the way she calls him describes him. Like I said I we saw a different side of him he dosn't show to many people(only Harriet and Albert). I haven't seem David in other movies, though. And you don't have to vid Skerrettelli but I'm sure if you do it'll be a great video. I can't tell I'm too invested myself but I like to see the other ships from the show in videos. Also, I am glad I am not the only one who agrees that a video can be a aprreciated no matter who you shipp. I actually faved notps videos because they were really good (in terms of vidding but sometimes even made me see what other see in the ship, not like or agree, but just understand their reasons and that's due to great editing. Maybe there was a beautiful coloring and everything put together really well, it depends).

David is very talented in my opinion, I like how his acting is often subtle but effective at the exact right moments. The problem is he almost always plays bad or at the very least a**hole-ish guys in period dramas -- like in Pillars of the Earth, The Borgias or The White Queen ^-^ I'd love to see him in more roles like Ernest instead. Here's to hoping! And wow, it's really a pleasure for me to see there's people like you who are so open-minded about ships. I hate ship wars with a passion, I think they really bring out the worst in any fandom...and for a vidder every video has a lot of thought and hard work behind it, so to see it disliked just because of the ship or character without a second thought on how much time has been spent on it (and usually without any comment about _why_ it was disliked) is kinda hurtful. So there should definitely be more people like you around!

Ooh, I love Ernest! I love his voice. Lord M gets all the attention, but I like Ernest. Historically Lord M was a father figure, I just don't like this twisting of history to make him and Victoria romantic.

I am there with you on the Vicbourne romanticization, I can't bring myself to like it -- I do think they did well with his farewell though, it was quite emotional even if you dislike them as a ship. As for Ernest, he is indeed precious!

WOW!!!! Vale!!! So glad you love this series as well!!! Vicbert is my no.1 ship but I also love these two (I'm like you, always loving the painful ships). I think her husband must be a horrible man and I hope they introduce him to the show next season so we can see! It's so sad cause in these days so many women were forced into arranged marriages...it's one of the worst things I can think of. Your video is AMAZING and your editing truly STUNNING like always! Ahh, one more fandom in common, that's amazing Jess! Thank you so much for your ever lovely comments ♥ and yay for common ships! I really love Vicbert too, I wasn't sure on them at first because they really didn't seem very compatible, but they grew so much on me with the episodes. I loved that falling in love with Albert actually made Victoria a better and more understanding Queen, instead of one who only stomped her feet like she was before meeting him ^^. And yeah, in this show Harriet's husband doesn't sound like a very caring man at all :/ from what I read their marriage was very successful in real life (despite the age difference between them) so I think they are doing the real Duke a disservice in depicting him as such, but ah, I love this ship (Harnest? xD) nonetheless :D very curious to see if they'll expand more on it, even though I'm afraid not, because Ernest too has to get married at some point and rule Coburg. We'll see, I guess!

This warmed my little heart, I love it so much! Your editing is just so flawless *_* I absolutely adore David as an actor, and managed to see him in an outdoor production of Pride and Prejudice a few years ago where he played Mr Darcy! I stuck around afterwards and got to meet him, and in real life he is an adorable puppy... On another note, I have a history fancast collab open if you'd be up for something like that? Aww really? That's great, that play was SO worth seeing! I loved that they expanded a lot on him and Will being buddies in the play. When he appeared again at the end it had me teary-eyed ;_; I only wish they had filmed it like they do many other plays nowadays, I would love to be able to see it again. When did you go? Lui è stato un vero cavaliere ç.ç ormai con David sono abituata "male" nel senso che fa mediamente sempre ruoli da farabutto xD per cui sono stata molto felice di vederlo in questo ruolo così sensibile, e spero decisamente di vederlo comparire ancora in futuro -- anche se per questa particolare otp non ho molte speranze, sigh. Mi piacerebbe tantissimo vedere qualcosa di tuo su di loro, o su Vic in generale **-** quando meno te l'aspetti l'ispirazione potrebbe sempre arrivare! Adesso stai lavorando a qualcosa? :)

Appena riesco provo a combinare qualcosina. Al momento nulla, avevo iniziato un video su DW con final cut ma sono impazzita di continuo... appena ci capisco qualcosa di più, proverò nuovamente. E' come quando inizia ad usare sony vegas, ci vuole pazienza con qualche imprecazione ogni tanto perché pure questo si spegne a volte.

I am not very hopeful on these two's front sadly :( but I agree wholeheartedly on Vicbert! Crazy chemistry aside, they both matured a lot in the show since meeting each other -- Victoria especially, Albert challenged her to think more of others and to become a better, more attentive Queen and she has done that and that's just one more reason to love them together, they are just _good_ for each other

Can't agree more :) both in this and in The Living and The Dead he's played the sweet guy for once (and hasn't died in some violent way or the other ^^''), and I'd love to see more of him like this too. Here's to hoping! If you can get over how annoying the protagonist is for the first half of the season, Victoria is really quite nice, and the actors are all brilliant, as are the costumes. I can definitely recommend it because the 2nd half repaid me so much in terms of character development as well

Stephanie Hill I thought it was cute that she seemed to be crushing on him, but he didn't really reciprocate much in my eyes, even if he was always kind to her ^^ (I am a few episodes behind now so I don't know if they have had more scenes together though). That said, I would still love to see a video if you indeed came up with one in the future :)
