[From "Kovacs Corner" on KZfaq.com] - Here is one of the few commercials that Ernie made that wasn't for Dutch Masters Cigars! Along with his wife, Edie Adams, Ernie satirizes different personality types who are involved in the mundane task of washing their 1955 Ford. An underlining irony lays in the fact that he would perish in an automobile crash seven years later.

I was plopped in front of the round TV, and became subliminally addicted to Ernie Kovacs, thats why.

I've never seen Ernie's work till now. Wasn't even born yet when this aired. It seems innocent & funny. I grew up in the 80's & tv then was innocent compared to now. If only it where like that again, don't like the crap they have for our kids. TV should be harmless like it was before up to the 80's. BTW, Ernie is funny, now I know why he inspired a lot of famous ppl now, he's very talented.

This must be a very early ad for the '55's. The grille is different than the grilles on the stock showroom models. Does anybody else notice that? Check it closely on 1:33 into the film.

At a running time of almost three minutes, and I did not include the announcer's on camera introduction, this must have been produced as a commerical intended to run in a movie theatre. Does anyone have more background on this ad?
