In my honest opinion this was the best thing that could have happened to the young superstar. It is the fact that he has to earn his victories and they do not come easy. He is a rising star but he needs a little head wind in order to develop into the fierce athlete he hopefully will be. Later in his life he will probably thank Lyles for this.

Knighton has Lyles worried. Last year at Olympic trials he beat Lyles in the heat and semis and Noah admitted that he had to come up with a plan to beat him in the finals which he did, then this year Noah was going out to eat, heard about the 19.49s run and cancelled plans, saying he needs to step up his training! Knighton got into his head so Lyles returned the favor by running a final he didn't need to run and winning. Didn't want Knighton to get too confident. But that pointing and dissing in the interview seemed to have given Erriyon more resolve, as if he needed it! Team EK/JDot

Once Erriyon decides to not let up, to make sure there is no race just him, Noah will constantly be second. Noah's comments directly after the race showed he was upset that he wasn't the talk of the town anymore. Usain made world class athletes switch events (my friends included), and Erriyon is going to do the same.

@@arose9871 every heat he started to shut it down with 50m to go including the final. Noah has a bye to World's but had to keep pushing like the American team selection race was just as important to win because he is no longer the favorite. Noah doesn't like when the talk is not about him. And even with that he only won by 0.02 secs. after Erriyon had to try and kick it back into gear. That was his fault for assuming he had it already won. Erriyon made the team and that's what matters. You can't run the races if you can't run the races.

Lyles is splitting 9.2 on the second 100m his weakness is his first 100m so to beat him you just need to run sub 10.3 on the curve and come back in 9.2. Both Fanbullah and Knighton can go 9.2 on the last 100m . He didnt go out too fast he just needs to improve his speed endurance and this is a 19.4/19.5 run into a headwind easy. Noah is at his max capability he isnt running the curve faster than 10.4/10.3

Wrong. Noah Lyles has run 10.2 on a number of occasions off the curve (Most notably his 19.50 in 2019 and his 19.52 last year at Pre.) If you watch the original race clip, you'll see how conservatively Noah ran off the curve for his 19.67 and was on course to run a 9.1hi down the straight had he not showboated at the end.

Yeah he tightened up at the end but what ultimately costed Knighton the win was that he raced Lyles. Anytime I ran MY race, irregardless of who was next to me, I PR'd and/or won. But the minute I started racing somebody's daughter, that's when it would fall apart. He's young and gifted though. He'll learn how to relax and trust his body and his training when he races. I'm Team E all the way... I was so put off by Lyles' post-race interview & the way he crossed the finish line... Why talk down to your own (now) teammate? Dude is just a teenager. @@MJPTV I think he's the most exciting person to watch. Crazy to think that the best competition for Noah right is 18 years old. On top-end speed though, I don't think we really get to see it a lot from Erriyon. He has a really explosive start, I think when he learns to just relax and maintain instead of trying to build up speed across the course of race (making his legs tired) he'll be an issue. On top of that I think we really got a chance to see his top speed on the bend, if he can maintain from that point on instead of forcing speed (which if you watch that bend you'll see it). This is the truth, from a former sprinter. Noah Lyles, is much stronger than E.K. rt now. If, Lyles; trains correctly he can't be beaten now. His weak point is his 1st 100m, and he runs it this way bc, he kns no in the world will beat him to the finish line. He's allowing E.K. to set the rabbit speed mark then he catches the rabbit. One way to counter this is to not set the mark and keep even w Lyles, then battle him to the finish. This means change his strategy and maybe, he will get him at the tape. The winner will run a 19.4, w.r speed. I'm putting my money on Lyles, this yr but, 2024, maybe; a different story. I like both, guys and wish them the best. Shalom.

@@stephentrader9142 He can stay relax in the straight all he wants. Lyles, is stronger and has a better strategy to win w his exp. The only, way to beat him is to hv more in the tank in the last 75-80m. Only, then will it depend on their will and strength to win. Lyles, just believe's he's the best in the world. While, E.K. not sure if, he can beat him but, giving it his best shot. Ex: I ran my best and fastest 100m, at 10.21, at the US-O-Trials and was leading at 75m, lost in 4th pl. No Olympic advancement for me. They said..i needed to relax too. I don't think it matter, against world class sprinters. Shalom.

You don't understand sprinting knighton has the strength he ran 19.49 earlier this year.,However when you tightened up the way knighton did it causes you to slow down tremendously because your form breaks down. If you pay attention the moment knighton tightened up his stride shortened and his arms didn't move as high. Maintaining good form helps you slow down slower even if you lack the strength to maintain the speed.
@trsking
@trsking 2 жыл бұрын
@@stephentrader9142 i didn't say, he's not strong but, Lyles is a stronger sprinter. When they meet again, i believe; E.K'S, coach will hv him change up his tactic but, Lyles will run the same way. The pure stronger sprinter will win. Who? Lyles...and you will hv another excuse, why he lost. Meanwhile, it must be you who sprinted on an elite level not me. By the way..my best 200m, was a 20.4 legal wind. We just see it different. Every sprinter is different and hv natural gifted talents. E.K. will win when it's his time and he gets more exp. Shalom.

When the difference is that close it's anyone race at world's. Now if Lyles had blew him out then I would say there wasn't a chance knighton could win. Considering 19.69 is the slowest knighton has run while trying I like his chances. Kerley or Bednarek could be sleepers as well.
