Flynn lived more adventure in one lifetime than three people put together. He knew how to live life to the fullest off the screen -- while charming and thrilling audiences on screen. He did what he damn well pleased and his career is star studded with movies that are still enjoyed by millions today -- I would say that's a very successful life

I first became really acquainted with Flynn in 1960 when I was aged 18 with the publication of 'My Wicked Wicked Ways,' before that all I knew of him was through visits to the local 'bug hole' where, together with my friends I would watch him in such classics as Captain Blood, the Sea Hawk etc., culminating in his greatest screen role as Robin Hood, but when I read his autobiography, first published in the now defunct 'News of the World' my dad and I fought for the paper to arrive. Each week we would both read the various segments, each week we would marvel at the many achievements of this remarkable man, my dad has been long gone, I am still in thrall of this godless rebel, this modern day Ulysses, I know many of his stories were embroidered, so were Niven's, but he was there and the photo's prove it.

Errol Flynn chose to live the life he did, and everyone has that right. But, I feel that he may have lived a bit longer had he not been so addicted to alchohol and heaven knows what else. When he died, at the age of 50, he looked more like 70. Yet again, as I said in the beginning, he chose to live the life the way he wanted and he probably would do it the same all over again if he was to come back! May he forever rest in peace.

Errol Flynn was a tough Guy too. He was fearless and never backed away from a fight. In David Niven's book "The Moon is a balloon" while filming "The charge of the light brigade" he tells of a big burly extra who put the rubber tip of his sword into Errol Flynn's horse's rear end causing the horse to rear and Flynn to fall off. Flynn told the extra to get off his horse and the 2 boxed by the end of the fight the extra was on his back. Niven says Flynn kept himself fit by swimming, tennis, boxing and weight training. He used to box with an ex-pro called Mushy Calahan.

He had so much but was weak or you might say stupid to addictions that destroyed his career. Dieing at 50 is way to early. He used women because he attained them so easily and had 3 unsuccessful marriages
