Can't afford a big Trans repair, so was glad to see your video.. after a grueling 3 hour repair, I was really discouraged that the new Sensor installation didn't do a THING to fix the problem.. STILL won't shift into HIGH gear.. Yet the code is P0843, and you along with other videos say the same thing.. I drove it this morning, but the RPM's are high at 55 to 60 MPH. Any suggestions? I want the light to go off, but more I want it to shift into high gear...thx!

I am unsure about the problem I have CR-V. I do have an issue when going in reverse but the transmission is switching through all gears. maybe tighten it up. I actually went through the whole process 2x atleast.

Hey could you describe what was your problem. My car does not have any code but you can feel the hard shift from 1-2 gear.

I have a 2008 Honda Civic and I believe the 2nd clutch and 3rd clutch pressure switches are the same switch? 2nd is on top and 3rd is below correct?

Christian Medina The codes that I had were P0847 and P0756 (2008 Honda Civic LX). After research, I found that I needed to replace the 3rd gear/clutch switch. From videos and reading, this is on the bottom, under the car. Also, after calling the dealership, both switches are now the same part # 28600-RPC-004. I was going to use a knock off part but then I ended up using a Honda switch after recommendation. It was $55 which is annoying but replacing it was pretty easy. It’s been about 2 weeks and my car seems to be ok now. There were some shifting issues at first but I think my car had to re-learn the new switch. Good luck

Joe Humeas thank you for the info. The code I’m getting is “ P0848”. I was told by the smog people it was a transmission code and it was for 3rd gear. I called the Honda dealer and they had the top and bottom pieces for $80 a piece. So I’m guessing I buy the bottom piece for under the car and replacing it?

My apologies but I purchased a second clutch and put it in that spot and have no problems since.

So how do you know which is the one to be replaced? Will the code scanner specify that?

Thurmond Goins have you thought of changing the tittle on your video ? I did this exact same job on my car yesterday and still have the same code. It’s cool you made this but has proven to be misleading because of the tittle .

Third clutch sensor is on the bottom of the Civic. This is the SECOND sensor. In the 2009 Civic it's 28600-RPC-004. Maybe you guys are all talking about different models? Seems to be some saying this is a CRV. The Civic in other videos seems to be mounted the opposite direction.

That clunk issue may be a transmission problem ran into that problem trying to tow a uhaul.

Make sure you changed out the right one you have 2nd and 3rd it fits both to be safe change out the other and see it it works I see you asked this months ago hopefully you've fix the problem 😬

my best guess would be a genuine part. I'm a tinker DIY kinda dude, and as a result I have yet to come across many problems to answer such questions. I will share it with a friend and see what he knows.

+K M on the CR-V It is below the car near the oil pan I just went from the top, I don't have a lift.

+K M the ridge line is different but if it's the same I think you can go beneath the front and see it, if it's the same it will have blue cap like thing over it, but that's a guess, I have never been close to a ridge line sorry.

+K M sorry not sure about a RIDGELINE, if it is like the CR-V and the height of your the vehicle is lifted you should be able to see it on the transmission beneath the front, it has a blue cap like cover on it.

Teddy Haresco I'm dealing with it too. I found 2 sensors, 1 in front and the other in the rear. Cleaned them to see if that would help. It didn't. So I'm planning to order the sensor. And possibly change the fluid.

Hi. maybe I can help.....(For Honda Civic Lx 2009/Check Engine Light ON and blinking "D"light) Is your Error Code from OBDII P0843 which says Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A....if it is ..then here is the parts number 28600-RPC-004 and it is located near the driver (rear) that is the Switch A and the one in the front close to the grill/bumper is Switch B and it will be a different Error code.....I did change my fluid also and make sure it is on the right amount....I did it today and it fixed the problem..... the only strugle is taking out and putting back the filter box.... just have patience and you will get it, .... enjoy

yes.... on my civic the OBDII code will state if it is switch A or switch B.... A is at the back of the transmission which is close to the firewall driverside and switch B is in the frontclose to the front grill... I hope this help you....

I replaced the sensor that is in the rear of the transmission and it cleared it all up. I went to the junk yard and found a same generation civic and took the sensor from the front of the trans and used it to replace the rear sensor. Works fine now. But plan on buying a new sensor.

I know its super easy if you have a community lift you could get it done in minutes.
