I really like how the English dub recognized that if they directly translated the meaning from Japanese, the final part of the speech would be "Rage, my soldiers! Scream, my soldiers! Fight, my soldiers!" It would not sound right to say "My soldiers, fight!" in English. But then we run into a problem--"soldiers" is not a good final word for Erwin to scream. The Japanese version ends with a nice longe "tatakaeeeeee!" "Soldieeeeerrs!" doesn't sound good. So the English version switches it around while changing the meaning *just a little* to imply Erwin has a sentimental bond with his soldiers (which is true!). This allows the speech to end on the amazing "raaaaaage!" Even "fiiiiight!" wouldn't have sounded as good.

@seekay8079 I feel some voices doesn't match with the character, and I don't like that they don't translate with 100 percent accuracy what the author says in the manga (I have more problems with this in Spanish, but also the English version has a lot of slangs)

I quite like that in English and German at least, his lines have a different meaning (a bit at least), but the overall message always gets through. Of course it's because none of them is the interperation of the other one, but both are translations from the Japanese original and translations always change a little. My French is less good, b ut I believe he didn't said this "my soldiers" thing in the end

Japanese is the standard of course and the English version will always be the best in my eyes because of my bias towards the language. But the French version definitely impressed me! It is the kind of speech I can easily envision culminating into something like the Battle of Borodino.

I started watching this show in dub (not English). While watching the second season, I became interested to see how Erwin’s speech sounded in the original dub. God, my whole body was covered in goosebumps. Since then I have only watched with subtitles and in the original dub. No matter how many times I have seen dubbing in a variety of languages, Japanese remains the best
