I applaud you for visiting my country. Yes it’s a country for travellers and not tourists. It has the highest population per landmass. I recommend you visit the outer islands as they are more pristine and cultures intact unlike the capital South Tarawa

23:34 Before the bridge about 46 years ago. The people use one ferry to travel from betio to bairiki. Students, civil workers and basically everyone board the ferry to bairiki and back to betio. I think the ferry called "Te makambo" or its nickname

CJCof LDS. During the week, youth and adults come to the chapel area to play volleyball or basketball. There are no plays on Sundays and Mondays as they are reserved for church and family time. Thanks for posting.

It’s a causeway. Before it was built you had to take a ferry back and forth. And it’s Bay-see-o. Remember ‘Ti’ makes an s sound

Wow!!! You walked all the way from Mary's Motel to Betio? The causeway was first completed in 1987 but then after more than 20 years the causeway had been severely damaged and was rebuilt by the same Japanese company, the Dai Nippon and was completed in 2019.

Mauri, first of all I hope you had a nice stay on Tarawa. Sad about the shower, it would have been better to go for a swim. Anyway Tarawa is not like how it used to be only because its over populated. If you happen to go back to Kiribati again try visiting the outer islands and I can't believe you walked the causeway in the heat with no hat.

“Biggest baby boom” 😂😂😂 It is extremely overpopulated because everyone from outer islands comes to capital in hopes of employment and better education. Best time to visit is week of July 12 for cultural dances and festivities.
