The fact the cave dweller chose to disappear through a thin object like an old horror movie just made it better.

10:50 so, about the "stare" function, it's basically coded to stare at you until you break sight. So when the dripstone broke your sight, it despawned and spawned a new one somewhere else. Also, side info, it's AI doesn't have a roam algorithm. So it doesn't really stalk you. When it spawns, it stands at one place until either you see it or it sees you. It's kinda like you stalking it. Since technically you're the intruder. "Cave Dweller" name checks out for this. The enviorement really played you off there too.

You know what would make this even more terrifying, combining it with graveyard. Graveyard is another horror themed mod with similar creepy shock enemy’s that though they largely behave like normal mobs have unsettling appearances

I think the fact that you used realistic lighting makes this 50% more scarier than it already was

This mod would be a lot more terrifying with a few things: remove all other hostile mobs in the cave, so it's just you and the dweller. give the cave dweller the ability to climb, be on the ceiling like a spider, and break blocks

The fact that on 7:08 you were too paralyzed to even place blocks fast just confirms how scary impact this mod gives.

Cool additions to the dweller could be like torches going out randomly (a new item or item to relight torches) when the dweller is lurking nearby, and the dweller slowly peaking and going back from a corner (must be at least a 2x2 of any cave/ mineshaft block.

The fact that there is a mod that is a caving dimension just makes this more terrifying

Gargin should make it so it can't despawn. Only one will spawn each time naturally and it will always hunt you down. Even if you block the exit and leave the cave, it will still be there, waiting until you return. Also, make it climb very fast and be able to leave the cave to chase you.

honestly, you made minecraft a horror game, the dripstone, the water droplets, the particles of gravel and the harsh orange glow of the torches at 10:13 make it terrifying, may i ask which shader you use?

I know it would probably ruin the aspect of the entity, but it would be funny to have an above-ground variant of the entity but Gargin doesn't tell anybody about it, so they end up experiencing it completely blind. So you exit the cave and you're sighing with joy at having escaped, only to wrap around a tree and come face to face with a Dweller.

The thing I love that the creator of the cave dweller does is he makes his characters almost human in personality when the monster can’t complete killing you it seems to give up. But it actually just distracts you for when it comes back to complete the job it’s almost like a heavily determined toddler kinda cute ❤

You should add a darkness mod to make it harder :>

your video caught my interest because you're reviewing the new cave dweller mod in a new and cool way, but after watching the video i actually really enjoy your editing, voice, and how you dont feel like you're "acting" if you want to keep the steam train rolling with the views, i suggest you try to capture the niche of scary + minecraft with your genuine reactions, like playing some scary minecraft maps or doing similar challenges like the one in this video.

Cave Dweller can easily pass through 1 square empty block zone, since it is code it like this, so always wall everything up.

God dammit dude, this video was so damn good I loved the concept of spawning in a cave with limited resources and having this godforsaken mod paired with it; you practically turned Minecraft into a horror game And instead of actively trying to find and kill the mob, you were scared of it and actively avoided it which made it more mysterious and terrifying as it was intended; paired with the edited ambient noises and music to match each scene (ESPECIALLY at 7:00) just made it so damn scary and perfect. Thanks for a great video mate

Dude, just watching this video gives me overwhelming anxiety. I cannot even imagine playing this on my own, not to mention wandering through a mineshaft.

if you dont know, the cave dweller is inspired by 2 mobs the enderman (tall and scary) and the baby zombie (can fit in small spaces)

That ending was so great but I hoped the music lasted longer because it just gave a sense of safety already, I was also gettiny scared as hell bruh

while the shaders do make the atmosphere a lot scarier, they also completely break the animations of the mod. the crawl, crouch, chase, stare, and flee animations are all broken in every video with shaders

Prologue: A team of 5 miners were sent down into the caverns with stone tools to collect iron. One miner heard a noise and split off from the group to investigate, he never returned. About two minutes later, the team was ambushed by multiple enemies. While they successfully repelled the undead beasts, another miner was killed. Another 10 minutes passed without incident, but that changed when the floor of the cave they were exploring collapsed. The fall killed one miner, badly injured another, and knocked out the third. The badly injured miner woke up to a *thing* staring at him. He let out a terrified scream, but the screams didn’t last long. The remaining miner woke up minutes later. He then began to make his way back up to the surface, with this *thing* stalking him all the way until the surface. Epilogue: The final miner succeeded in reaching the surface alive. He then ran back to his camp, vowing he would never return to the caves ever again

Underrated as hell, I'm in the middle of the video and I'm enjoying watching you just scream while running from it xd. I'm just imagining not starting off on the surface but instead underground makes it feel creepy cause you didn't have a safe spot when you spawn, you spawned in a dark, scary place. On top of that, the sounds are just AAAAAAH, definitely adds creepiness to the gameplay!

the intermittent darkness when you switch from your torch during the chases really adds to the feeling of horror, in my opinion.

Imagine if he can break blocks climb swim and just gives you the feeling that "you aren't safe at all" or something like that would make it more terrifying just like the night time in dying light. When you blocks the way to be safe only to find out he can break blocks when you climb up in hopes of being safe and all hope lost of it was like that i would mever had the guts to play this

Add a mechanic where the monster spawns behind you and sneaks up with a different but similar noise and you have to look at it to make it run away fast it makes ab interesting game out of it where you quickly have to determine if it's best to look or not to look and if you get it wrong the assault starts

The sound it makes when it sees you is like your tying to eat chips but your meant to be sleeping. Its strangely very terrifying tho
