Finally someone said it about Italy’s costumes. I also thought there was just too much detailing in their costumes. They kinda staged it how I thought they would performance wise 😊

Germany's Tik Tok bore NO resemblance to the pictures! Was that deliberate? Can't see the point of it. Hats off to whoever dreamt up the UK staging concept. Agree that Slimane needs to restrain himself a bit...he can be passionate without over emoting. Italy; needs to avoid the danger of the costumes being lost in the backdrop, but vocally impressive. Spain..the weakest of the big Five this year . Contender for last place maybe?

@@markdowd1 Haven’t seen any Tik Toks - I am far too old to bother - so hopefully you’re right. Isaak deserves better. They do need to change the outfit though. I get that it’s not as casual as what he wore at the NF - but could he be any more “please don’t look at me, I’m not even here”? This song needs power. Not just vocally.

I don't agree on Slimane. I love this song but a lot of the criticism is that it is a very classic old-fashioned style song and therefore not as impactful as others. What makes it work is the big performance and the big vocal. If it was just soft and sweet it would fall into "nice but dull" category. On the others: I like what the UK are doing. It's a strong staging and I expect it to do well. For me the song just drifts a lot in the last minute when it should be building. I have heard it's been revamped for the contest. I don't know if that's true but if so then it needs a bit of a punch (no pun intended given the boxing style staging) in that last 30 seconds. Maybe the staging will make it stronger. Germany I feel is in danger of being accidental last again. It's a nice song but I'm wondering who is going to pick up the phone and vote for it. Maybe seeing a bit more of the staging will help although what we have seen isn't again giving any sort of wow feeling. Spain really does nothing for me. I'm sure there's an audience out there for it and it will probably feature in Eurovision clips for the next 10 years.I beleive there is a message in the song it just feels like the staging is a gimmick designed deliberately to just be provocative for no good reason. With Italy I can appreciate the quality of the song and performance but I just can't get into it for some reason and I can't really put my finger on it. However the staging is definitely interesting and probably not what people expected so it will be good to see a longer clip to get a clearer picture of it. Note sure on the costumes with the background. Sweden finally just feels too clinical and over produced. I didn't like it in MF and nothing has changed. It will probably score hatfuls from the juries as ever but I don't see it getting lots of televotes. Actually this reminds me of Benjamin Ingrosso's 2018 enty in it's staging. It feels remote from the audience.

It's a ranking on choreography, not on the best singer or song in this case... Because the song of Germany is light years away. As far as Sweden is concerned, as expected, the choreograph is always excellent, but I have doubts about the vocals and the song seems to lack heart and soul, a commercial product. Nothing else

Oh look an “objective” Italian getting upset about not everyone in the world is exactly sharing the same sentiment. I think that “objectively” the Italian staging is unimpressive. Thank you for giving the rest of us a good laugh with your “objectivity”.

Unfortunately, many of my compatriots are unable to accept that tastes can be different abroad. Our musical proposal does not necessarily have to be liked. However, your -non-Italian- comment is no better than the -Italians-, who, at times, are too arrogant.

Sorry to disappoint u but my grandpa was Italian…. I am from Belgium…Lol!But I admit that from the first time I listened to La Noia I was sold and that I looove Italian language in general! Guess here we have the ultimate entitled and sensitive French or German person who gets easily hurtt in his fiefies when he’s facing the truth! Everyone and their mother laughs remembering the idiotic accusations by the idiotic French Press to the Maniskin singer about consumihg cocaine in front of a camera for invalidate their victory…because once again THERE ARE SOME COUNTRIES whose people are generally so entitled that they cannot stand the truth! That sometimes others are simply better than us! For example I completely agree with this video about Great Britain: their staging is very cool! And at least Spanish song makes me happy, even if I will never it put on my playlists! But don’t even try to replicate about the fact that the new a cappella section of French boring endless ballad is not FRANCE COPYING ITALY without even hiding it!!! @@CristinaCannizzaro I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I think that the Italian song is among the best and I also really like the Belgian, Spanish or other ones. Under Italian law, even if you are Belgian, you have an Italian grandfather so you are Italian too. In any case, I wasn't talking to you in particular, some Italian commentators (not all) are always convinced that the Italian song in ESC is always the best. I can understand that it may bother some, simply this. We have to live with the fact that tastes can be different. You are right again that others' a cappella section was clearly copied. You are right to say that there are also anti-Italian factions. For example, I remember the controversy over Italian songs (in ESC) which are always ballads (no, this is not true) as if Sweden brought songs other than Europop (yes, this is true). Of course there is objectivity but ESC is not always won by the objectively best song. In the end it's fine like this too :-)
