Thanks for a simple straightforward video. Like most of the thermostats I've had recently, it's unnecessarily complicated and not helped by a badly written manual, but once you've worked out how to set the timer, it does the job!

Couldn't agree more, compared with an analogue dial it's horrendously complicated.

Just in case you were wanting 6 programs instead of just the 4, (to allow the boiler to come on at lunchtime etc), this is how you do it. I hope it helps if you are stuck. 😊 How to Change From 4 Programs To 6 Programs This is NOT mentioned in the user guide, So I emailed ESI to get the following instructions and I can confirm they work. 1. Move the slider bar to the OFF position. You should see a snowflake on the display. 2. Press & Hold the A button, H button and >> button together. You will see either ON or OFF flashing on the display. Release the buttons. 3. Press & Release the >> button until you see CODE on the display. 4. Press the >> button once more and you will see an error code appear and then disappear. 5. The error code will be replaced by number 4. 6. Use the + button to change the 4 to 6. 7. Press the HOME button to exit the menu. You will now have 6 programmable events instead of 4. To change back to 4 you do exactly the same thing but select 4 in step 6

I see that Esi do have a set of videos for this thermostat. Just as well with the dire instruction book.

Unless you are a Micro-Surgeon, you need a magnifying glass to read the instruction book.

Thank you for this video when I moved into my house a couple of months ago I found this thermostat control panel and there were no instructions on how to work it. As I have no clue with technology what’s so ever, I had no idea on how to set the timer? I know is that I sound like an idiot but I’m still not convinced that I followed your instructions correctly but I’m sure I’ll find out if I’ve done it right it’s tomorrow morning with my alarm wakes me up. 😉
@loishastings9098 Жыл бұрын
even with instructions it's impossible to set!

@@loishastings9098 You’re not wrong, there is after living in this house for nearly 2 years (as of April 23). I still can’t do it properly as sometimes I get it right and others it feels like, “oh well never mind“ Know if it’s a case that I need to set it to come on in the morning, I just take the control panel up to bed with me and then switch it on when I wake up as I just gave in, lol! 😂

I’ve had all sorts of different thermostats .. this is the worst I’ve ever had . Ridiculous instructions .. far too complicated for such a simple task .. HATE IT

Could you tell us how it can be turned and off as needed without pre programming. Thank you.

I would like to set up 10 programs in 1 day, but, unfortunately, ESi thermostat cannot do that.

Just got one of these with my new boiler, hate it. No way of telling if the times you are entering are turning the boiler on or off, there is no manual thermostat override or an easy way of changing from coming on and off twice to staying on all day like my old timer had. Would go back to my old timer like a shot if I had the opportunity. Also, why on earth would you want to set a temperature once you have set the timer to go off?
@stevenholmes7873 жыл бұрын
I agree with Alan, which idiot designed this crap whats wrong with the display showing on or off instead of P1 P2 P3 P4 etc, also the front cover does not close properly on this brand new unit
@muslimahm92594 ай бұрын
I agree when i tried to put the program thing I actually thought p1 is when it comes on and p2 is when it goes off and p3 is when they come back on and p4 is when they go off BUT NO i got a big bill now am confused how does this even work
@loishastings9098 Жыл бұрын
Does the boiler switch off when it reaches the P1 pre-set temperature of 25 degrees? Asking for a friend.
@dennisgreenwood926 ай бұрын
Set temperature 21 degrees C. Room temperature 21 degrees C. But boiler still keeps running. Why?

Hi ESI Controls, nice product. Just a quick question, Is this wall mountable? There was only a Table stand included in the packaging. This is OK, but toddlers get to it. It will be a lot safer wall mounted out of their reach.
@bongbing50333 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s wall mountable or you can use stand.

Hi we’ve just had this device fitted by our landlord (we must be one of the thick ones) :/ can you help? This is how we’ve understood & set timer for central heating: P1 - 6am - on 23 deg P2- 8:30am- off 16 deg P3- 5pm -on 23deg P4-8:30pm - off 16 deg Our problem: heating comes on during the night & also turns off during the times set by itself . Hope this makes sense:(? Thanks

I must be super thick but I'm having the exact same problem and it's driving me insane, did you manage to understand it ?
@heidibobs15103 жыл бұрын
@@raziabegum209 no we didn’t really . We’re actually just using the switch on manually , and set up the timer so if temperature does drop below what we set it for it will automatically come on until it reaches 21degrees . Hope you had more patience than me to sort it out properly lol

hol on hol on, it means to set temp i need to know what temp will be in room on any given day ????.If i set it high, it fires up at unwanted times - making the the time set totally useless.And yet when set low -it again doesn't fire up - again totally ignoring the time set . Time/temp only work in off setting .Wtf?? P1 /P2/P3/P4 -totally idiotic , when it should be ON/OFF/ON/OFF.Old manual thermo was much better - just set time - none of the temp nonsense
