I am new to esl teaching though I have been teaching for 30 years in a variety of formats and age groups to native English speaking students. Opportunity presented itself to me with several esl adult students asking me to teach them English. I am working through the similarities and differences in approach between teaching nonnative speakers and native speakers . I’m not esl certified but I have a teaching degree. Do you think getting certified would help with understanding or can I educate myself through reading and videos like yours? I am using the English For Everyone series by DK publisher right now but I have a lot of questions...

Very easy to understand. I’m currently working with two ell students; one why speaks Mandarin Chinese, the other speaks Spanish. My must challenging task is to get them to understand the concept of “subject,” “verb ,” “singular,” and “plural” My Mandarin chines student may have issues with it.
