scary part of the coolant leaking in the sleeper is it like koolaid to the dug but a death sentence. I get the build quality blows away the Chinese versions, but damn, even at $159 all that wiring stuff is already done. Literally at 20 minute install and at the price I can replace the Chinese version six or eight times to the cost of that one. I hate to say because I would to support an American made product, but I'd never beable to buy one for what they want for it. Blows me away they didnt even have the wiring all set and ready to go like the Chinese ones do. And yes, in sub zero temps this one can cook me out of here. I hate saying this on your sponsored vid but that install was crazy. Great video though.

I was pretty stoked when I received my Espar heater from Thermo King Eastern Canada (Ottawa)...until I opened the box and saw that wiring harness and all the individual plugs/pins/connectors etc... Now, I'm a 'do-it-yourself and save money' type of person just like you folks, but in this instance I thought, "WTF have I gotten myself into?" Then I found and watched your video. 49 minutes and 45 seconds later I suddenly found that I had the confidence and motivation to just "get 'er done", as they say. Long story short, my Espar is completely self-installed and pumping heat into my old 379 Pete and I couldn't be happier, especially with winter approaching. Thanks guys!

Thank you for your video. I bought one of these, my webasto went down so I decided to get a espar I could not believe there were no instructions, 2 computer disks, I am not a computer person.. I got ride of the goofy connections, after installing them, and went and got butt connectors, then I had power to the little screen and heater. After I figured out that I had the fuel pump backwards, now I got heat. Thank you so much for the video, I couldn't have done it without you. God bless and drive safe

Kudos to the handy-dandy assistant LOL..... Nice job Jason, not only doing it yourself saves you money, I believe you get a certain amount of self satisfaction from it as well.. BTW, did you know those possibly dull wood-bits you used to drill aluminum can be sharpened with a file to to a nice edge again. Almost no need for a grinder, however, you could also buy a grinding wheel with a drill stem on it, and use your electric / or batter operated hand drill as a little grinder to brush up all your bits. I'm not a truck driver, or at least not for years now (and that was just deliveries and pick-up's for my own machine shop), however that was a great video of installation and I do commend you both! Thumbs up, and as always me and Shyann wish you lots of great loads and safe driving. BTW, the file I suggest is called a "Mill Bastard" file and note that is really the name of it. I use a good one to even sharpen my KUMA fishing knives, and even house knives, and to take sharp edges off pills. It will get you the best finish of all files, and it's also the most versatile. To remove lots of material, than a double cut file is good. I but I keep a Mill Bastard file in my house and in my shop due to their cutting quality and ease of use and also a good diamond sharpening stone for putting a fine edge on knives after using the mentioned file. Keep any stone wet, usually with a light oil, regardless if it's a stone or diamond compound.

When cutting zip ties, Place one edge of the side cutters on the lock block and the other on the zip tie that way it will cut the zip tie flush with the lock block and not have those sharp pieces. Invest in a correct set of Deusch plug pliers. Deusch plugs are the best by far. Stay warm . Stay safe.✌🧡🚚

All it does when you flip the switch to power it up is beep, beep, beep! Checked fuses, connections, wires, you name it, oil, etc, nothing. It will beep, that's it. I think im gonna have to go this route and lose 2,200 pounds of crap of my truck, lol! It's a Thermoking, too

Definitely helpful. Made me finish the whole video. Just have a safety concern about the fuel line. It's long and exposed. It can be damaged by flying debris or melted by external heat source. Do you know if espar provides a protective jacket or a more robust fuel line? I'm going with this system in the future.
@TheCraftyTrucker

Not sure they offer a stronger fuel line. We installed a second one on a van and we used a fuel line protector sleeve just to be safe. Most auto parts store carry sleeves for hose

The ONLY video I’ve found with the newest Espar S2-D2L that has the two wire power ground cable and not the three wire. Very helpful for those of use that get headaches reading schematics. QUESTION: the fuel pump wires are both green...can you just attach them to the electrical plug in either position? In other words, is there a polarity issue or not? Seems like one has to be + and the other - or the pump won’t run in the correct direction.

Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸, I've been installing and repairing diesel air heaters for truckers, boats and RV's for over 20 years now. First off let me say that I think you did a good job of installing your heater, with that said I do have a few tips for you, run your hard white nylon fuel line inside soft clear pvc tubing to protect it and dampen some of the noise, please get a fuel filter to go between your pickup tube and your fuel pump, please get a air filter for the intake, please get a muffler and mount it vertical with the drain hole facing down and some where in the middle of your exhaust system but make sure it's the lowest part of your exhaust system. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Keep up the good work and stay safe and God bless you and your family

Perfect video. Detailed. Love it. One question though, the wire you attached to the battery had a fuse, which fuse did you put in it? I got two in the little pouch they sent me, a 15 and 20, so was kinda confused. what would the 15 be for? thanks

Thanks for posting this video! This seems to be the only install video that uses the same wiring harness my kit came with (two green wires to fuel pump and only two main power wires). You mention at 25:09 that the fuse block on the wiring harness is a 20amp. My kit has a 3amp fuse in it from the factory. Do you recall which size fuse is correct for that fuse? I'm assuming it's the fuse for the fuel pump wire, but I'm not certain.
