See the moment Saint Mary's Gaels vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs entered a brief delay of game due to angry fans throwing trash onto the court during the timeout. The student section would not be assessed a technical foul and Gonzaga would fall 64-62.

Should’ve been a technical. Officials absolutely blew it. The call and the response to it. I understand people are pissed off but throwing stuff onto the floor is unacceptable period.

Technical on whom, the fans? What if St Mary’s fans threw trash? How does one differentiate fans rooting for which team is throwing trash, and why should the team be penalized for unprofessional behaviors by fans?

this is one of the few teams that was top of their league and once the NIL & portal really hit in 2023, they fell off a cliff. Oregon State and Washington State joining the conference for basketball next year, if Gonzaga can’t get their heads upright then it’ll devalue the WCC conference. obviously they lost Drew Timme and Jalen Suggs previous years, and some other seniors, but used to be the top west coast team for the recruiting trail and process and now falls behind the state of California as a whole.

You might be able to make an argument about the portal hurting the Zags with the loss of Marcus Adams Jr but they also gained Graham Ike, Ryan Nembhard, and Steele Venters from it. Not sure they have fallen off the cliff just yet
