Being put to sleep is more dangerous for pro athletes than regular people, their immune system is actually weakened because it's always busy recovering from training and re building muscle. I learned this while studying to be a sports therapist.

I agree. My nephew turned 18 and sleeved one arm in under a month. Then got one on his neck. I told him that's not how you get tattoos. Of course he don't care about my opinion. You're suppose to work your way up to getting a sleeve or neck tattoo. Anyway, obviously my opinion and my generation

Then it looks awkward because some might be better than others. Your body changes. The ink fades. I mean it is what it is in total but the real issue I have is if you're using the right artist, having 4 people at once shouldn't be an issue while awake. I've had things done in the easiest places that killed me because of the person but I've also had hands, clavicle area, and elbows done by people who were good and I was literally falling asleep because it was like a massage with a machine that makes a constant reverberation that's hypnotic when they aren't dragging the needle or pushing in to deep.

I’m Samoan and in my culture pain is part of the process when we get a traditional tattoo or tattoos. The whole point of enduring the pain of getting a tattoo or tattoos is all bout the journey, meaning, the story it tells in your life. The pain is part of your story, it’ll heal in time. At the end of the day pain is only temporary, so if you can’t handle the pain don’t get a tattoo cause it won’t mean crap.

Someone at my job did this and they said they got really sick after saying its normal to get flu like symptoms. Apparently a huge job like this drops your immune system very low for a short period of time.

I had an aunt that was put to sleep for a breast implant surgery and went into a coma to never wake up. She was pronounced brain dead a few days later and they had to pull the plug. Ill never get put out like that unless i have to. Too scary

I don’t understand this AT ALL. I’m 62 years young and currently have 7 tattoos. Working on my left sleeve, and I want to be there for every second of it! My portrait of my Grammy/Mom took 8 hours, was done by Shane O’Neill who has a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, and won Season One of Ink Masters. Philadelphia Eddie did the word Philadelphia on my left inner arm, and my great grandmother’s name on my ankle with hearts, etc. I’m planning a trip to Vietnam to have Trung Tadashi do as much as possible. I love it all! The exchange with the artist, the pain, and watching the progress. Being under anesthesia is the closest thing to being dead. I’ll pass. I only wish I had their money so I could get more ink faster! 🙌🏼😂

This should be illegal. Anesthesia can be fatal and has to be heavily monitored by medical professionals with resources to administer emergency care immediately if things go wrong. CPR and calling 911 is not enough in that situation.

Most with unlimited tattoos for lack of better words either got it piece by piece or did sessions. Yeah you can go this route but me personally I’m not paying for all that even if I could. I got my two sleeves exactly how I wanted them piece by piece and it took me about two years to get everything done. When bills were paid and I was in the clear I put cash to the side & kept getting portions done until 100% complete.

I recently heard of someone who was put to sleep for an extremely large tattoo piece and they ended up experiencing complications afterwards. So not worth it. Leave the anesthesia for real medical problems.

I come from a long lineage of indigenous heritage(Lumbee nation, Waccamaw sioun nation of the Carolinas tribes) and majority of my uncles have traditional tribal ink that they had to earn passage from elders in the family. I used to skateboard downtown DC and all the white dudes had tattoos and we used to joke about them, none of the black dudes had tattoos. I would imagine it's not really about the pain for most. It's the fact you have to sit still for hours and the crazy amount of money you need for a decent job. If you have the money, going back 5 times for 8 hours each session sometimes isn't exactly in everyone's schedule. I personally think using anesthesia is kinda dumb for tattoos though.

People who get tattoos have been advised of the risk of having ink injected into the skin. complications from tattoos are rare. this is about the procedure, not getting tattoos. Sleeve and body tattoos are not new, Getting them in one secession. administering anesthesia requires a medical license, so that means medical staff on hand., if you are going to get multiple tats, this would be the safest an most efficient way to do them. If this is popular, we would be hearing about reactions or complications

That's why I think ppl are over reacting. It's still going to hurt, and itch like mad. My brother has a full body suit and the tattoo artist suggested numbing cream for his ribs, he agreed to try and said it was the worst mistake he'll never make again. He said it's all blissfully numb until the cream wears off and then it feels like someone's poured liquid lava on the area and the cream wares off quicker than the artist can work. So your body all of a sudden is rushed with immense pain and burning and the artist is still not done shading those areas and every pass is even worse. First and last time he used cream that I know of lol. Waking up with your whole back being on fire like it's been burned has to be aweful.

Tattoos don’t hurt that much, I think people don’t have the patience either though , which is really sad .
