Impressive victory, I am glad Jessica is ok or seems to be. After that devastating loss I hope Jessica Eye retires. She has no chance of a title run, nor will she get her skills up at her age to catch Valentina - no point in risking more damage. A few more devastating KO's like that can do who knows what long term damage can result. Risk vs Reward not worth it.

The only thing that was sped up was the time between Jessica Eye entering the octagon and then waking up in a hospital bed. Shevchenko is a class act though. She is very good for the sport.

The only person to beat her was Nunes who I think lost the second, which is fucking crazy seeming as she went up and destroyed Cyborg who is way heavier than Shevchenko. Skill for skill, it's not even a competition though.

I agree. Valentina is a GOAT. Whooped ass in bantamweight undersized to everyone. Won a one sided decision strike for strike with Holm. Submitted Pena. Beat Amanda and don’t get demolished like Amanda does to everyone . And Val moves down outclasses JJ and dominating a division fit for her. She is a bad ass in and out the cage and a unbreakable strong mentality

The lead up to this fight gave Valentina impetus. That bs about VS having allegedly sped up the training video, JE wearing a bulletproof vest - all it did was motivate VS and we saw the result thereof. Edit - having watched the whole interview now I cannot help but feel VS is such a class act with a spirited side (tattoos etc). She is a very interesting person

You can tell she’s so happy to have this weight class open up. She’s only 5ft 5 and had had to work a lot harder than most to thrive at bantamweight, fighting much bigger opponents. I think for now she’s relieved and happy to stay in flyweight. But if it doesn’t start getting challenging for her I can see a world where she pulls a GSP and tackles the weights above and maybe even below her
