Espresso Filter Basket Comparison including IMS Big Bang

I did a single shot and a salami pull using 3 cups for each basket.
This should not be taken as conclusive data; I wanted a little bit of data across all of these baskets at the same time before I took a closer look.

Have you compared the Wafo against one of the decent performing precision baskets (with relatively straight walls, non tapered) but with a good fitting bottom paper filter? It should open up surface area and get you a little closer to wafos extraction numbers i believe. However also curious how tastes compare. Similarly have you tried the wafo spirit with paper filter on the bottom to see if it further improves extraction? I think for these higher extraction baskets there may be less benefit, less room for further improvement.

I don't suppose you have any EY data for the standard 20g IMS precision basket? I currently use that basket but I've bought the Big Bang basket too, to see if I prefer the taste profile, and I'm really interested to know how the EY compares between them.

I have compared EY and taste for Pesado vs VST. pesado is made by IMS so it’s the closest comparison. VST and Pesado have similar performance

thanks for the comparison. EY is nice, but how about taste? Can you say anything about it? (Considering that the coffee was old)

Wafo spirit tastes better. Mischief ones didn’t taste good. I don’t know what they had in terms of coating or design but they were un drinkable. That might have changed.
