Dear Alphonso, once again I am inspired by your way of letting me see things more clearly. I like the way you simplify the process by breaking it in several steps each focused on 1 aim at a time and putting it together step by step. It's amazing how much easier everything gets. You have to make the time though. There are no shortcuts (or else you pay for them later). Thank you very much for sharing your insights. Love the tuts and love your books. 😊

Alphonso's books are amazing. During the lockdown last year, I finished Alphonso's workbook. I can say without a doubt that if you do the practice seriously, you will improve vastly. One of the great benefits is that it isn't just a pen & ink workbook. All aspects of your art will improve. I'm not a beginner, but I think even pro artists who aren't familiar with pen & ink will benefit greatly from Alphonso's amazing workbook and book. I started with regular pen & ink, but finished the last practice exercises using digital inking with a tablet and an iPad. I still prefer regular inking using a brush pen or a G-pen, but the convenience of digital inking made it easier for me to finish the exercises. And I could do the exercises while lying in bed or on a couch.

Thanks for the video. While every pattern has texture, not all textures have patterns. So while I disagree with you there, I love what you said about if you don't see a pattern create one. That's smart because rather than getting frustrated trying to find a pattern where there isn't one (say in some tree barks) you just find a few lines that together aesthetically please you and then make that into a pattern.

Hi, I recently started to learn how to draw, and already bought myself a self-teaching book ( about drawing with pencil), and for more content and learning (and practice) material, I began searching for KZfaq channels, and found yours. I really like your narration, how well organized your playlists are, and more importantly, the pictures you create( they are NEAT), but the only thing keeping me from enjoying your content is the fact you (mostly) use pen and ink instead of pencil, and I have already bought my drawing supplies;although I will continue to enjoy your art, would you suggest a channel, similar to yours, with more emphasis on pencil?( if your channel is actually enough, do tell me; I really want to settle with your tips and instructions)

Your techniques are incredible. Pen & Ink drawing is by far one of the most resourceful books ive bought. Been combinin the techniques there with the ones i study from Peter Han's Dyanmic Bible like image composition and focal points and so far im already seeing an impovement in my work.
