This is a must do upgrade for your Artillery Hornet. The stock extruder tension arm is plastic and a weak point on the printer. It will break at some point in time. I guide you through step by step, how to replace it with a quality metal one.

I had to do this, not for modding, mine was literally broken (and I bought metallic one for durability). I didn't though about changing the bearings, and I completely failed trying to put the lid and being able to put the screws, removing the fourth screw help. I'm printing a calibration cube for test, until know everything looks fine and I can print again.

Ho un problema sull'asse x, non mi fa muovere la testina. Il perno del motore si muove, mentre la cinghia non si muove. Puoi aiutarmi?

I have the problem that my artillery hornet fails to boot. The display lights up when I turn it on but fails to show any information or boot up screen... u/shalokshalom has a video on reddit with the exact same issues that I have.

I have not run into this issue before, there could be a problem with the screen or the mainboard connection to it.

The plastic hobbed gear is now a concern. What do you think?

Im not worried about the plastic gear, the hob gear is metal, its just pressed into the plastic driver gear. The bearings that it runs on can get worn out fast by having the screw through it as those bearings are not designed for lateral loads.

Nope, that screw does more harm than good. I found the bearing on amazon.

It depends on what country you are from, If you have amazon that is the best way to find them. The screw will wear the bearing and cause the extruder to bind.

Yep pretty much the same process on the Genius Pro. The extruder cover is just a fan and heatsink. Are you wanting a video about leveling the Hornet or the Genius Pro?

@@EtherealProject3D prints that uses the sides on the bed. Every time I level the bed and then tries to print on the sides it’s way too high or way too close to the bed. Any solutions?

Hi, very nice video, I love this upgrade! Is it possible also to swap the hotend in order to print more complex filament like carbon fiber pla or composite materials that requires higher temperature or it's a software or other types of hardware limitation?

The heat brake can be replaced to allow for higher temps for sure and a simple firmware update would follow. Overall pretty easy mod on this machine, ive done one, still need to do mine, I have video plans for it.
