They should make an educator pack for these, maybe 6 mini alphas and 6 mini Bertha's? Be great for a group of youngsters to build quick and launch within hours.

Thanks for the video. Very clever design. I wish Estes had stuck with cloth elastic shock cords. I replace them as a matter of course. I would use plastic cement to reinforce those joints, just in case!

Just ordered one of these and the new Mini Big Bertha. Figure the Mini Bertha is similar in build. I might add just a touch of plastic glue to the two halves of the engine compartment and squeeze it together to hopefully eliminate any gaps between them. Neat build. Thanks for the demo. With engines getting expensive, flying a few of these will not break the bank and hey, you get four mini engines instead of 3.

A fun flyer! Not gluing those fins leaves open an easier path to replacement should one break on a nasty rock in the desert. Looks like some glue to hold the two engine can halves together might be a good idea.

Right. Too late already glued them in place. I don't like stuff moving around. But good point, for each replacements.

Nice build for the Estes Mini Alpha, but Estes should call it the Mini Alpha III. The original Estes Alpha has balsa fins, balsa nose cone and the Alpha III has 2 plastic components. The upscale Estes Maxi-Alpha that I have has balsa fins and a plastic nose cone. I minimal upscaled the Estes Alpha to BT55 and call it Ultra Alpha, 24mm powered. 1,500 feet on a low wind day with a D12-5. Estes also produced a kit called The Colossus and was basically a stretched Maxi Alpha 3× length. It gives room for a ejection baffle, because I'm on a 3rd parachute for my Maxi- Alpha. A 2×29mm Clustered Colossus and maybe a BT5 Micro Alpha next?❤

Alpha III for sure. Nice projects. I made a Stealth Alpha (24mm) motor mount and got it up to 1900 ft plus.
