and to me if the person has great skin and you can see it then despite the routine they are doing and using products that you think are weird or so-called wrong then its good. I've been flipping thru multiple videos by "skin care pros' and they all talk in this way. She has been nice, thankfully, but still all the same. The persons skins flawless yet what they used to get that skin is horrid/bad. I'm like if its working and its something that's used for years/generations then let it go. Acknowledge that is must be good, imo

@@marlak4203 it might work for now, but if something's proven to work/proven to be bad then of course they are going to recommend it/not recommend it. If someone has naturally nice skin and is putting lemon juice on their face I'm pretty sure that it's bad for your skin. Skincare isn't only to make your skin pretty it's a supplement for healthy skin and basic hygiene anyone needs. Just because someone has nice skin doesn't mean that their skin is healthy....

I TRUST your knowledge base, and this just proves across the board; You know your s***! Often people with darker skin may question the knowledge base of others who may not have that same skin. People with skin of colour are better off avoiding fragrance, essential oils and strong acids like glycolic acid. Even if they appear to work at the time, they can cause our skin to react later. Really not convinced by this skincare routine, it appears quite harsh for her skin tone.

I've used tretinoin over a decade, and after a couple of years I started to use it under my eyes and eyelids. I didn't do it every night at first. 🔥 😁 But after a month it was OK. I'm 40 this year and I can tell this has helped a lot with lines I see many have in my age, I haven't got one. I have also been a "non tanner" from I was a kid. Not because I knew anything about skincare then, but it was too boring and too hot. 😁 So, it works. And bathe yourself in spf 50 all year around. I really recommend tretinoin. It's freaking gold. If my grammar is off here and there - I'm from 🇳🇴 😁

Milia are very actually very simple to remove with a sterilising thin needle as they are just regular spots but without holes, blind sebum filled pores. You don’t have to pay loads for laser etc. The only reason you need to go to someone who knows what they are doing is because you do not want a needle around your own eyes! It doesn’t hurt which makes it more likely to cause some serious damage.

Babi Ros3 I’ve used both the toner and essence for a year. Honestly, you can skip one or both. If you feel your skin is dry after cleansing ( like mine during winter), then slap on that Rose toner ( it hydrates). Essences on the other hand work differently than toners. It balances your skin’s PH levels. It’s mostly in used in Asian skincare routines. I personally haven’t seen a difference in the Fresh toner and Kombucha essence but saw a big difference when I used SK 11 Pitera Essence. That’s sufficient without a toner but of course expensive. U can try both if you want to. Or try Paula’s Choice RESIST Hydrating Toner. I’m loving that now without the essence.

YES thank you for mentioning that you should wash your hands directly before dipping into a tub of product. i use the cerave moisturizer in the tub (unfortunately i haven't found the one with the pump yet) and always wash my hands before dipping my fingers into the product 😶

You could get a little scoop! That's what I do. A lot of moisturizers or cleansing balms come with little scoops that are easy to keep clean. Alternatively you could use a cotton bud but if you are like me that would be wasteful. A spoon from your kitchen? Lol

@@denise8791 thanks for the recommendation! I've tried using a scoop but I always forget cleaning it afterwards which I think is more unhygienic in the long run than dipping my fingers in 😅🤷‍♀️ But maybe I will try it again sometimes because it's annoying to always wash my hands directly before dipping in

@@jennybe4766 welp as long as your hands are clean I don't find it to be the biggest deal. Most products are made with enough preservatives anyways. Also if you're not sharing it's even less if a big deal🤷🏽‍♀️ no one is perfect lol especially not I😂

Thank you for this! :) It really helped to hear your opinion on a skin care routine for someone with a darker skin tone. I'm a Fitzpatrick 4-5. You mentioned some ingredients to be harmful for darker skin tones. Can you make a video about that pleeeease? :)

It's pretty bad honestly I love Nyma shes a fantastic person. I watched HB video when it came out and I was horrified I think shes slowly learning about skin care, she recently said she had been a soap and water girl a few years ago and that shes come so far

Hey Cassandra! I love your videos, very informative and have got me looking into The Ordinary and really understanding the science behind skincare. I’m currently using La Roche Posay but have been using some serums from a company called Face Theory and would love to see you look into their products and give your thoughts on them. They’re all natural and cruelty free so seems like something you might like.

I make sure my hands are super clean before I dip into anything with my fingers! Soap and water, then drying with a tissue rather than on a shared bathroom towel! I've felt insane for being so careful because most people look at me like I'm crazy. But thank you for validating my constant hand washing after touching the outside of every container!
