In this video you will be able to learn complete ETABS software in just one video. You just need to watch this complete video and practice the steps which are shown. The complete 2 hours training is divided into eight steps. The explanation of each step is made in easiest possible way as it can be easily followed by those aspirants who are beginners in learning ETABS 18. Furthermore, by watching this video you will be able to extract the design information from code books.
In this video four codes are explained i.e. ASCE 7-16, UBC 1997, IS: 875 and Building code of Pakistan. Each code is discussed one by one explaining in detail to read, extract and use the required load values into ETABS model.

After watching many videos, finally, I found your tutorial is best in the sense you explained every detail with full justification and reasoning which is way different rather explaining the usage of tools which everyone can do. It will be helpful for us if you could make similar videos on check and balance as per is code for every member in analysis and after design, and also on detailing, design of foundation too.

Sir I have a small request. Please make a series like construction of g+2,g+4 storey building. You can take storey according to your wish does matter whether it is g+2 or g+4. Please make a series on complete structural drawing using staad pro... including foundation, plinth beam, column, beam and slab. I'll be grateful to you. Complete building design using staad pro. I like your videos get to learn many things. Please sir make a complete building design series (using staad pro) including all the components of building like beam, column, slab, wall, foundation, plinth beam, staircase. So that we can design at least a building by watching your videos.👍

Thanks! 😊 . Though Staad pro is multipurpose software but etabs is more user friendly. You can design any type of buildimg ranging from one story to a skyscraper. Follow the steps which I have shown and you can design any type of building project.

SFD and BMD are very important diagrams which shows the variation of internal forces which can cause shearing or bending effect in a structural element. These diagrams are kind of X-ray of an element so we can figure out what is happening inside the structure when a member is subjected to any external load.

In the Seismic loading topicm The Response Modification Factor for Ordinary reinforced concrete frames is R=3, Sys ovr omeg = 3, Deflection = 2.5, in accordance to ASCE 7-16 page 91. But you are using R = 8, Sys ovr omeg = 3, Deflection = 4.5, i think which is wrong

These factors corresponds to the type of detailing used in a structural element. And based on detailing type, there are different moment resisting frames. when you use 8, this means that the analysis is performed considering special moment resisting frame. SMRF Have connections between beams and columns that are capable of transmitting both gravity loads and lateral forces through bending moments. This enables the frame to resist and redistribute the seismic forces effectively. SMRF are designed to exhibit ductile behavior. Ductility refers to the ability of a material or structure to undergo significant deformation before failure.

1) If you are adding any superimposed load to "Dead Load" load pattern, in that case you have to check "add to existing loading". Otherwise, the default option "Replace Previous load" would not make any changes in the loads when you add load to other load patterns. 2) Haven't seen that part though, but its a minor change i believe.

foundations will be designed separately either manually or using SAFE or STAAD Foundation. In my upcoming tutorials i will design using both method. Plinth beams are design in the same way as regular beams.

May i know the reason why you have selected American Codes instead of Indian Codes? If I model using Indian codes, does the process you have explained gets differ?

The modelling process is same for all codes. No difference at all. You just need to see the parameters (loads, combination, factors etc.) accroding to the code you are using.

Two Questions: 1- How you identify for ETABS that slab is one-way or two-way slab? 2- What about the design of the slab? How you would you design the reinforcement for it?

Assalam O Allikum! Dear brother, it shows the Area of steel required for RCC structural members for which you've to select appropriate steel detailing as per Codes followed in your respective countries. The Reinforcement detailing is based upon your Engineering judgement and knowledge. Regards.

if you want to apply one way slab manually, in that case, choose slab type as membrane and select special one way distribution. if you allow software to do the load transfer, this is to be done bases on relative stiffness of a member which is computed by software. As far as slab design is concerned, Slab design is similar to beam design.
