We all thought the factory was abandoned, same as every other major structure after the infection. When infrastructure collapsed, most places were left to rot or looted of anything of value. One day, one of our scouts noted that the light was on over the ramp to the loading bay area when it had been off before... if you stand at the base of the ramp, just past the chainlink fence, and listen real close, you'll hear sounds of the factory ticking over. Who's in there, or what they're doing, no one has an answer to yet. Probably best to steer clear and not think about it...

the anomaly appeared last month..it resembled a large factory. What product it distributes is unknown..no workers have ever been sighted with in its vicinity. but the light at the front door is always on..and the structure is clearly operational. Strange sounds and a certen mental pressure have been reported by those who have dared to walk towards the large front door.

Power is usually still left on in abandoned structures to defend against mold, and deterioration. As if the building is on artificial life support.

I’m almost done reading Stephen King’s “The Stand” (uncut version, 1,153 pages), and this scene is how I imagine some of the places in the book. I love the scenery, it tells many stories. I’m enjoying reading everyone’s ideas about it.

Entry 071 "An old place. It once served as a wartime factory in 2199. If I remember right, the machines it produced were the 'tens' as we called them. Technically model 0-1-0 multipurpose warfighting suits, they stood ten feet tall, armed with a dual 20mm chain gun on the right arm, and a medium-length flamethrower on the right. And two shoulder mounted micro-rocket pods. On occasion, you can still find the robotic carcasses with their deceased pilots rusting away in relatively unscathed locales of Earth's surface. However, due to their manufacturing being a result of new-age material processing, whatever degradation they have undergone has been minimal, and in wartime would've been considered easily repairable. Sometimes too, we find one that has a functioning hyper-matter core. Fuel cells capable of lasting up to 50 odd years without replenishment, somewhat similar to the nuclear fuel used in the previous century, but monumentally more efficient. Useful for conducting long-haul operations cross-continents. My apologies, but this journal log will have to end here, I see one of the mechanized husks running a backup sequence. This is the best one yet! You can clearly hear the ghosts of dead workers smashing their hammers against newly minted details down on the main hall of the factory while comfortably sleeping in the very top floor's dead factory manager's office. 😊😴🛌

What is very strange to me is that I get the sense I've seen these places already. In dreams perhaps.

"What do you think they _used_ to make in there?" I paused for a moment, as the faint echoes of the question were swallowed by the incessant patter of the rain. Try as I might, I couldn't dredge up enough memories of the Times Before to hazard a guess; even the skies themselves were nothing more than hazy, half-remembered images that I could easily dismiss as products of a dream. I let out a defeated sigh and tugged at the straps of my backpack, my fingers sliding across the wet fabric. "It doesn't matter," I replied. "All that comes out of there now is nightmares."

As you walk in from the rainy, cold weather you are briefly warmed by a fire that is inside of a barrel next to the door. You glance around witnessing people work their lives away, staying warm from the foundry’s furnaces. You approach the desk to ask for directions, only to find out that whoever enters the building will never leave…you join the brotherhood of workers and begin laboring.

I bought this many years ago after much debate they said it was the highest grade self automated factory on the market I bought it before they left me the keys they said be aware this plate does things to ppl First it was great had my bed my room my life set up as time went on this sound this music became ever louder n it pulled me into nostalgia into my past reliving the past before I knew it I spent years in here scrolling crying laughing reliving the old Facebook memories of people I don’t even see anymore then after actually going outside I see the world I knew ……is gone
