Shaun, the information in your manual has helped me more than any therapy ever has. It’s been about 3 three weeks since I purchased the dp manual and you have helped me get my life back. I still experience anxiety here & there but the symptoms from dp are long gone due to the combination from reading your manual and making some crucial lifestyle changes.

I think this subject especially weed induced and psychedelic induced dpdr should be more brought to light and more researched because this is a kind of condition you can develop even while knowing you might not have any mental disorders running through your family. My whole family doesnt have any mental illness, yet I smoked weed one time and im slapped with dpdr. Probably more common than we know and it should be more looked at
@Dpmanual
@Dpmanual Жыл бұрын
@@liltahr4059 Oh absolutely. No history of mental illness in my family either, but I had a bad drug experience and ended up with DPDR too. The thing is that it's not about 'mental illness', at least in the classical terms of hereditary conditions etc, but more about panic attacks, which are the most common thing in the world, most people will experience at least one in their lifetime. But when a panic attack happens during or as a result of a bad drug experience, epecially with weed, the feelings of disconnection can be focused on specifically, and become an ongoing anxiety-based condition. You're 100% right in saying that it's more common than we know 😊www.dpmanual.com/articles/depersonalization-weed-and-other-drugs/

If you are reading this know that you will be okay and that this is temporary! The more you calm the anxiety about the dp, the better you will be. Also, remember to not give those crazy thoughts any more energy, they aren’t true! You are here, on earth, with all the other billions of people, just as you always have been. I went through this and 100% got better. Be consistent and patient and you will get results with the manual. Having anxiety sucks but you are stronger than it, I promise!

@@leonoremireles4817 Hey Leonore, thanks for your comment 😊 Don’t worry, that all sounds like a very typical case of weed-induced DP to me. I know it can be frightening but remember that it's just your body and brain's natural response to stress and anxiety. It's not permanent and it can't hurt you 😊 You can and will recover. Make sure to read through all the info and articles on my website at www.dpmanual.com And if you would like to speak to a medical professional please don't hesitate to do so. I would recommend finding an anxiety specialist if possible as they will likely be more familiar with DPDR.

Listening to this is so reassurin as I my way to a dentist appointment today my head started feeling fuzzy when I left the house. I felt like I was on a drug and felt my heart racing, the fear of my experience became so overwhelming I sat down in the wet street thinking I was having a heart attack. I have panic attacks so I eventually calmed down enough to continue my journey but it was difficult as I was having derealisation and a bit "hung over" from the panic attack adrenaline. I got to the dentist and the bright lights and people brought on another panic attack as I waited. I wanted so much to just run away but I knew the feeling would follow me anyway and I really needed the work on my tooth done. I got into the dentist chair and felt a bit calmer as "I was doing it, my anxiety didn't prevent it" the work on my tooth actually grounded me a bit but on the way home I was still checked out and exhausted by my panic. When I was on the bus it was so dark and I couldn't recognise where the bus was, everything looked and sounded distorted and I was really concerned I'm going crazy or have a medical issue. Hearing the commonalities in these stories is real solace for me right now. I'm determined to heal from this. I hope whoever reads this knows I'm rooting for you too.

This channel has actually put things into perspective for me and I am finally realising and getting help. I have had DPDR and bad OCD for about 15 years (from what I can recall). I am now in my 20s and conscious of my experiences, it's all about being conscious and actually realising you may have issues which can take a while. Unfortunately for me it started when I was 12 and I went through school with it and now into my 20s as you get older you become aware of things. I really appreciate this channel for raising the awareness and helping so many people. I dont know anyone who has had it as long as me but hopefully now I can get to a recovery stage and start being who I have always wanted to be. P.S I really do believe some social media platforms and pornography from an early age could create these issues and how it effects the brain and how we're put into programs. Joe dispenza has really helped me for anyone seeking more help. Thanks.

I’m here to say that you will get through this! I experienced DP/DR for months on end not knowing how to function and having anxiety attacks everyday. I feared everything and it came on very quickly. You will eventually grow used to how to react towards it but, it takes time! My best advice would be to stop looking it up on google and how to fix it because you’ll ultimately focus on it more, find distractions like hobbies or something to do, and remind yourself that this is only temporary and that your in the present I tried meditation. Hope this helps :)

Its good to hear that this guy is better! I have the same story, extremely bad panic attack caused by weed, this happened this year july 8,and i have dr evere since, i dont feel any symptoms of dp, only dr,in the beggining i used to panic over it a lot because i didnt understand what was happening, but then luckily i found your youtube channel which iam so thank full about ❤️, and then i understand the whole thing and iam not that worried about it anymore, BUT.. 2 days ago i was sitting on a chair in my house and i looked outside the Window and i saw the tippical "unreality" of everything but i was lik:"meh its jut the dr" but then all the sudden i felt something that i havent felt before then, my house which i live in for 17 yrs now, it not just feelt unreal which was okay for me because i know that it was dr but it seemed completelly unfamilliar and it scared me because even tho i had dr for 3 months by then and i got used to the feeling,but i havent feelt this before, like i know that i was in my house sitting on a chair but it feelt completelly unfamilliar, like that typical feeling about my home was gone like i was in a completelly different place for the first time, and i looked outside my Window and my street and everything about it feelt completelly unfamilliar, and this is my only question towards you, is it dr, is it normal to look at familiar things and walk at for an example places in my city where i w been thousands of times in my life and not having that typical feeling about it, like feeling like beeing in a completelly different, unfamilliar place?

Hello! My derealization and depersonalization started 1 year ago after a bad trip and now I'm much better. During the first 4 months, it was very hard. Then I tried to get out of it. (meditation, breathing exercises, see my friends). And infact what really made me "cure" is acceptation. I accepted that if it had to, i could live with these symptoms for the rest of my life. Because in fact it's only symptoms. And even with dr/dp you can keep running, talking, laughing. I realized that I could stop paying attention to it because I wasn't in danger and I wasn't sick. I could go on with my life despite these symptoms. So take the time you need but accept and welcome these symptoms, it will take time but that's the key. Today I do not do derealization or depersonalization anymore except sometimes when I'm really tired but it's like everyone else and it doesn't scare me anymore!

It's interesting, weed definitely gave me panic attacks when I used to smoke and I felt "off" the next day but I didn't think much of it so I just moved on. It wasn't until years later that I had a series of horrible panic attacks for 2 weeks that the "off" feeling came back but now it had new meaning to it, my brain was looking for "the threat" and apparently it thought my very existence was dangerous lol. I've had 2 episodes of extended dpdr, both brought on by extended periods of panic attacks and alcohol. I'm 8 months into this second round with it and I'm slowly starting to see improvements. Letting go and acceptance are so important with this, and it's something I've struggled with even before panic and dpdr, and I'm willing to bet a lot of us have had trouble with it before dpdr as well.

Hey, thanks for your comment 😊 I know DPDR can be scary but just remember that it’s a natural reaction to stress and anxiety, and people experience it all the time. The National Institute on Mental Illness estimates that up to 75% of people experience at least one depersonalization / derealization episode in their lives. It's part of your brain's natural defence mechanism and usually it only lasts a few seconds or minutes at a time. It's only when it's focused on as a separate problem (feeling like you're going crazy / in a dream etc) that it can turn into a feedback loop with the anxiety that caused it in the first place. But no matter what caused it or how long you've had it, you can always switch it off completely by stopping that anxious feedback loop. Make sure to carefully read through all the articles and info on my website at www.dpmanual.com And if you would like to speak to a medical professional please don't hesitate to do so. I would recommend finding an anxiety specialist if possible as they will likely be more familiar with DPDR 👍

I think people all have troubles that they can't help but fear it, no matter what the problem is be it dp/dr or love life, family prblems etc. For me dp/dr was horrifying but once time passes, with self-assuring again and again, I am very happy that I got to suffer from dp/dr. In the end, our minds keep on jumping from one fear to another (I am certain of this) and once you've truly understand what I'm saying it really is not that terrifying as what you've expect it to be. I hope that all of you got well as the time goes by. If you really think that you might not be able to recover. Look at people around you (especially old people) and know that all these people surely have gone through something that you've been experiencing or something similar. You'll realize that they had once survived and recovered, so you can absolutely do it too. When my dp/dr symptoms were severe, I can't understand anything what a person was saying and forget it too soon. I kept listening to my friend who is talking to me but I can't seem to understand anything what they are saying especially complicated stuff. But the I realize that I was focusing on trying to understand them too much instead of really listening to what they are saying and slowly I began to start understand them. One thing I remember from reading a Bible is this line ,"When you pray, pray as if you have already received what you are praying for". And it really is true it all depends on your mind. I hope all of you made a steady recovery and remember everybody is going through hardships not only you or me.

Remember I have said that during my dp/dr I can't even understand a single thing what my friends and people are saying but I kept on enduring. I thought I would be the only person to be scared by a horror or science fiction movie, I was watching a series and suddenly disordered thoughts came because of anxiety and I stopped watching, but then I kept thinking, I stopped watching why did I stay afraid of the anxiety and not because of the thoughts. I still have depersonalization but I can say that I am recovering slowly, I have noticed. I can recover and you reading this too. Let's go!

Do you still have relapses? Or have you been able to recover from dpdr ever since you started your recovery? I have been suffering from dpdr since July this year because of a bad weed interaction and lately over the past 2 months, it has been happening more often due to stress, anxiety, and social anxiety. Sometimes I feel as if I am not going to recover and go back to my normal self which is very discouraging because I have stopped doing the things I love. I have just brought your DP manual to help with my recovery. I am also going through emdr therapy hopefully I recover

Hey currently I think I'm experiencing dp and dr. I ate my first edible with some friends on Tuesday and suddenly during school the edible started hitting and i had a panic attack and kept telling my friends to touch my chest because I thought I was going to have a stroke because my heart was beating so fast but then the symptoms past. When I got home I surprisingly didn't really have the Dp and Dr symptoms. I had those symptoms when the edible took action. The next day I thought I was good because my friends were good because they both also took edibles before and they were fine, but Wednesday the next day during school i suddenly started going dizzy and a headache I also had a mini panic attack but then it went away when I got home. Thursday the same story but less worse than Wednesday. Thursday I was fine when I got home but I went outside and i found out when i was in a crowd I just suddenly got dizzy and i started thinking that "oh no I'm feeling this again". But when i relaxed home it kinda went away. Today this morning i kinda kept thinking about it and dp started taking action. Wednesday I searched up "why do I feel like I'm in a dream after a edible" and i clicked on the first link and it was your dp manual tips. I have been experiencing all those symptoms your videos give me hope and keep me calm. I want to recover completely 🙏 it's been about almost 4 days since the edible and trying to recover.

@@adrahhaydar6117 hey!! I'm doing better but I still have it but less worse like the symptoms aren't that strong. What's helping me recover is trying not to thing about it like I still have some blurry vision in school and if I find myself thinking about it and with symptoms I always take 4 deep breaths to clear my mind and drink some water and just keep myself distracted. Yea you might feel some symptoms but just be distracted!! It's helping me a lot. I play soccer so it helps me get my mind distracted. I do chores to also keep me distracted talk to friends. I just have trouble sleeping.lastly i watch Shaun's videos like this one! It gives me hope to recover and I'm doing sm better. We got this 🙏💪

But sometimes I can’t differentiate between my dreams and reality, I get afterimages sometimes and I have a ringing in my ears.

After this I dabbled with drugs, i even smorkd more took acid shrooms and stuff, then quit at age 18. I smoked a couple days ago after a year without smoking, and I got to a level of high I didn’t know existed. but this time my dpdr and this hppd are both super mild. Are dpdr and hppd intertwined? Or did I just get both because i just so happened to get both dpdr and hppd at the same time? Hey, I got it since 3 months now, very dark place feels like everything is emotioneless and People also see i changed and that puts me more in this situation because i just want to be how i was and dont think when im meeting with my friends that i have to act „normal“. 4 years ago i had it for 1 year it was so horrible but i got out of it now im thinking ok you got out of it now you will too but its like youre life is gone, like someone stole youre complete motivation and confidence youre not feeling anything. Also want to ask for those who experienced it, is it normal that you think you have no thoughts or that youre talking with yourself in your thoughts and that are now youre thoughts. I dont know how to explain it but my thoughts are just different. Also i cant speak free, like i have to say it first in my thoughts and i cant be part of a conversion because i dont know what to say and its like i hear the things the people say but it dont goes in my brain. Also i hear ecerything 10000 times louder, like the voice of my brother in the living room is so loud to me in my room, sometimes i hear also my neighbours voices and im focused so extreme on that that stresses me so much which will not help me get out of this condition. Someone experienced these symptoma i tryed to explain? If so please let me know so i know its only DPDR and not something other mental shit. How i said i had it 4 years ago but back than i was shy and didnt talk much as person so i once googles it, there stands its normal i have to accept it and i didnt think about it, but now i was so a confident person loved to talk with people and all that is gone :/ And how i said i got it once for 1 year and noe 3 years later its back whyyyy :/ I tried to accept it but when i talk to friends its allways like i dont know what to say that puts me back in. scariest symptoms for me are 1. I cant talk anymore 2. Feeling literally no emotions 3. No thoughts 4. Thinking how the fuck i am able to recover when everyone i talk to i think myself He knows im different and i have to act normal but then i just act like a robot emotionaless and dont know what to say. I think this is what i have after a massive set of panic attacks from smoking cannabis from age 14-27. One day while smoking i just had a rude awakening. I went to the ER room about 5 times and everytime they said I had heightened and severe levels of anxiety. I started to believe I was developing schizoprenia because I started to hear my inner monologue again and have daily hypnagogic hallucinations while trying to sleep and when insomnia isn't beating me up I have very vivid and scary dreams when actually getting sleep. Doctors also blamed this on cortisol levels and severe anxiety. The best way i can put it is i feel mentally out of sync and like i'm having a break from reality, but i'm aware of it. Would you classify this as dpdr? If so i'm highly recommending the manual.

Hey Calli, thanks for your comment. Firstly, please make sure that you’re speaking to your parents about what’s happening. It’s very important that they know what’s going on. Secondly, I know DPDR can be frightening but remember that it's just your body and brain's natural response to stress and anxiety. It's not permanent and it can't hurt you. You can and will recover. Make sure to read through all the info and articles on my website at www.dpmanual.com And if you would like to speak to a medical professional please don't hesitate to do so. I would recommend finding an anxiety specialist if possible as they will likely be more familiar with DPDR 👍

I developed DPDR after suffering a panic attack about 3 months ago. I definitely feel like it’s starting to fade away, I still have some times where I get a little into my thoughts and have intrusive/existential thoughts but they’re definitely a lot more manageable now and I am capable of hearing my own regular everyday thoughts again. However, now I just feel extremely depressed and experience more everyday anxiety about little things. Is this normal and a part of the recovery process? It doesn’t feel like it’s DPDR anymore it just feels like heavy depression
@Slaytounge
@Slaytounge Жыл бұрын
I do think it's normal, at least in the fact that I'm experiencing this too. I wonder if for me it's just major fatigue from being so overwhelmed by my symptoms for so long. It takes a lot of mental energy to constantly worry and constantly try NOT to worry at the same time for so long. Not to mention I've basically neglected and straight up avoided the things that actually make me enjoy life because I was so focused on not losing my mind. How can you appreciate a hike in nature when the only thing on your mind is how different things feel and constantly monitoring your thoughts and experience? At least it's getting better. If my dpdr can fade with time and acceptance, then my depression can too with a little work.

Same problem with me, after having it now for 2 Months because of a panic attack, it slowly starts to fade away. But im really depressed now and often have those existential thoughts questioning life. Personally for me working out and doing physical work helps me really out. I also mediate and try to cut out those thoughts

I think one of the most intense symptoms of my disorder is I am scared of my physical appearance, I can’t look in the mirror without getting a panic attack I haven’t looked in the mirror in almost two months and I get extreme anxiety every time I accidentally catch a glimpse of myself in a reflection. Don’t even get me started on having to go get a haircut or go to the eye doctor(they have the little mirrors you look through). One time I had a panic attack and had to leave mid hair appointment. In short my life is a living hell

Hey Shaun, I had 2 things that come back the whole time. The thought and feeling; nobody knows what you exactly think or see, and I am afraid of that. That as an individual, you stand so alone, and you lived behind your eyes haha. It is so strange. Do you recognize the feeling? And the feeling I have, that the world and the people around me are my imagination. So they are not real, and I am dreaming. Is this normal? P.S. sometimes when I read your reaction, it likes it is a robot copy paste reaction. Are you Shaun? Who read and answer the comments? I know by other chanels that random co workers replys ... Thanks for everything you do. With love, Mary

I would also experience very weird ‘emotions’ that I never experienced before and it was pretty frightening I’m glad I’m going to normal though and I can enjoy everyday things again
