For the Awaze sauce:
- 3 tablespoon berbere
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ cup water
For the beef tibs:
- 1.5 lbs beef bite sized pieces
- ⅓ cup niter kibbeh Ethiopian clarified butter
- ½ onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 jalapeno pepper sliced
- 1 teaspoon berbere
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
