Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer bar here on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Now this is a stabilizer bar. Meaning that if you have cargo, you'll want it in this position. That way you don't have them sliding around.
It helps stabilize your larger boxes like if you have a cooler like this, and prevent them from rolling towards the end of your truck bed. So this is the stabilizer bar for full sized trucks. And that's because it has a length from 59 to 73 inches long. So this is a little bit longer or on the long side for a stabilizer bar. But one really cool thing about it is how sturdy it is.
As you can see, I have it set up here on our truck bed in our Silverado. You see it does fit perfectly there, and I don't have to worry about there being too much wobble. Now if you want to use this, you have this sort of a ratcheting system here. So when you wanna take it off, there's this bright shiny silver piece that you're gonna have to push forward. If you do have it on, if it's very tightly put together, that might take a little bit more pressure.
So just make sure you don't have any fingers in any of those dangerous spots. So just move that lever all the way to the end. So a full 180 degrees rotation. And from here, you can slide it in or out depending on what you need to do. Now, our box right here is on the shorter side, so I'm gonna lower it to the lower setting and put it against our truck bed.
Right where our wheel wells are. One thing to keep in mind here is that you have to make it where it's only slightly against your truck bed before tightening it down, 'cause it will push it back a notch. So honestly, finding that perfect balance is the trickiest part about this whole bar. So that's a little bit too tight right there. Let's move it in. There, that's the perfect setting. So I'll move it up, and let's get that into place right there. So see it latches into place, and you now have this stabilizer bar which is honestly stabilizing me. Some things that you can add to this setup is you can get a cargo bag, you can get the HitchMate Stabiload. You can get some dividers if you want further organization. But as a stabilizer bar, I think this is really well. My personal thoughts about it is I like how heavy duty it is. I like how the feet are rubber coated, or they have like a rubber lining on the inside. That way they don't scuff or scratch your truck bed. And as you can see, there is very good traction right there and you don't have to worry about it accidentally coming undone. So all in all, that was a look at our HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer bar for full size trucks here at etrailer..
