Been using these for years in my trucks. A must have, for many uses. As you pointed out, gas cans , propane tanks etc. Safety!

Like the bar, hauling ethanol free gas for motorcycles and diesel for tractor. Do not want them moving or falling over for sure….

Those bars are handy. I used to use a 2x4, worked ok, most of the time. I though about getting some, but decided to go a another route. I upgraded my truck with a home made sliding bed. I placed 12 anchor points in the sliding bed for 1/2" eye-bolts as strap anchors. Just screw them in when needed. Also have a couple of boards that bolt in the same points that act as anchor stops for gas cans, etc. A lot more work to build, but a lot easier on my old knees, no more climbing in the bed.

I have one that operates like a turn buckle. That ratchet feature. Hmm I may have to have an extra christmas present to myself that comes a little late.

Or you can just cut a 2x4 and drop it in slots that newer trucks have in the bed liner.

Yea i have used these for years. I use the semi truck version tho. Load locks. Much more sturdy. If you use the ones like i do. You can use it as a tie point for a four wheeler winch and winch ya wheeler up the ramps into the bed of ya truck. Load locks are alot stronger.

Yep, I have one and a three compartment net. Can't go wrong with it and I installed the multifunction tailgate lights!!!!

Looks like a load lock truckers use. Won't work for me. I put groceries in the back. I made a fence from the vinyl fence in our yard. Covers from the bed to the topper. Groceries would slide under this load lock.

When I had my 95 tacoma (and a 98 s10 after the taco got totaled in a VT blizzard), I swore by one of these (a buddy bar in my case). So useful. Useful even beyond a truck bed.

Similar devises have been around for years, many users over tightened their cargo bars and spread the top rails of their trucks. Always someone, that has to overdo a good thing,

Commercial load locks. Used in the trucking industry for decades. They do come in handy. Just don't over do their use or you will bend the bed walls in your truck.

Never had good results from those bars that attempt to wedge against the sides. I've tried the threaded and ratchet styles. I have better luck with a rope tied between tie downs or a net. The tie downs as a fixed anchor are key.
