This is day two of our Weekend trip to Mudigere. We did the beautiful Etthina Bhuja trek. Etthila Bhuja is also called Shishila Gudda by the locals there. It is one of the unexplored treks in Karnataka which is near Mudigere. It is a must visit tourist place near Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur.

Back in 2010 we were studying in horticulture college mudigere ... Ettina buja visible from our college top... Back then no resorts,no restrictions to any trek spots..used to cook some snacks by ourselves on ettina buja and stay a night in devaramane , ... Good old days..... Try tadiandamol ... Best wishes

Back in 2017 , I was studying in NITK surathkal. Me and my friends thought of camping 🏕️ in ethina bhuja but during the starting of the trek we were misleaded by the locals of trekking route. We were directed into forest road , we started at sharp 10:30am and we were trekking till 5 pm and we were lost in the middle of the jungle, we got to know around 3pm that we are in wrong route as we didn't find one single littering there 😃. As it was getting dark and luckily we found mountain water falls , we camped near by it. In morning while returning back to the starting point we found some Elephant dung we were so tensed , finally we reached safely and it was one hell of a trek

Super vdo, as usual!! Thanks for kindling the memories. Had trekked solo here in 2018, all alone in the entire hill range. Very recently we friends trekked to adjacent Jenukallu & Deepadakallu; the neighborhood EB reminded me to return to it's fold as it's almost 4 years since😍😁

Yes. We did it last week. Please take a local guide and ask him to ensure permission is obtained. A guide charges about 1000/- It may be good to stay in a homestay at Mekanagadde (8km trek one way from here) or Hodachahalli (6k trek one way from here). And do the trek early in the morning. I suggest go to Jenukallu as Deepadakallu is much lower and getting down from JK to DK is steep. Also going by trek from DK back to base would be difficult given very rough and long trail.

Thank you! Trek distance must be around 3-4 km one way. When we went there we were given a guide. So we are guessing you'll also get a guide. Nanya Bhariaeshwara temple is the starting point. All the details are in the video

"Etthina bhuja", means in Telugu, "Raised Shoulder". Is it the same in Kannada?.

No. Etthu means an "Ox", bhuja like you said is shoulder! The peak looks like an Ox Shoulder, hence the name
