Narasimha Parvatha Trek & Barkana Waterfalls | Agumbe tourist places |Places to visit near Mangalore
We trekked Narasimha Parvatha via Barkana Waterfalls through Mallandur route and got down through Kigga route. It is nice tourist place near Agumbe and even Shringeri. It is a couple of hours drive from Udupi/Mangalore as well so it is a good place to visit near Udupi/Mangalore. Narasimha Parvatha difficulty level is very similar to Kumara Parvatha

Thank you! We don't have the guide details. Once you reach there you can check with the locals, there are lot of guides you won't face any problem. We also heard that when you pay the forest entry fee the forest officials provide a guide if you don't have one.

ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಾನ, ವಿವರಣೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ.ಇಷ್ಟ ಆಯ್ತು. ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳೋದೇ ಖುಷಿ. ನಾವೂ ಕಿಗ್ಗ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ವಿ. ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ.

I was specially impressed with your details about little things and your environment consciousness in appealing to the viewers to avoid littering and keep it sanitary and safe for all. I am retired 75 y old NRI and have always wanted to do what you are doing but had to become a “Paradeshi” (50 years ago) seeking a livelihood. I wish to bring our grand children for a visit to our homeland (Mysuru) and travel for a bit to get them acquainted with our culture and traditions. I am looking forward to using your videos to get a good reliable information on the places we may be blessed to be able to go to. As for the name of Narasimha Parvata, a few decades back I had been there with a relative from Kigga. He explained that just as you reach the peak from Kigga side, he showed a huge rock standing ( something like our Hanuman temple in Mahalakshmi Layout) which from one angle looked like Ugra Narasimha seated and from another angle an elephant standing. This is how this place got the name of Narasimha Parvata. On.the way, you get Sirimane falls..

Narasimha parvatha trek with 25 km uneven landscape is a tough trek for one day, where you could get lost easily....that apart eating two mini idlies for breakfast is really a bad beginning and tasteless simple packed chitranna for lunch, is bad middle, getting down in darkness near kigga where snakes galore is a worst end...but still your efforts are highly appreciated and your complimenting support to each other unparalleled.... congratulations.

Congratulations on a tougher trek accomplished by you. I have done this in 2014. Then trekking from Mallandur was not permitted. So we did this from the Kigga side with a Forest department guide. ✌️👍🏻

Yes we heard that camping was allowed 7 years ago, once the forest department took over it is banned. You were lucky to have gotten a chance to camp here!

More than happiness on covering a new place, exhaustion is written larger on both your faces this time. Tells one how hard the trek is. Must have been really tough carrying all the equipment and baggage on such a difficult trail.
